I've been watching for a suitable Mille shock complete with linkages coming up on ebay, but so far, only shocks have been offered. Has anyone, for road use only, fitted a Nitron Sport shock(the cheaper one with combined preload/damping adjustment) and if so, would they recommend it? Or , is the Track version, with its greater adjustability, worth the extra cash?

I hadn't seen that, dyzio; thanks! However, I have an 04 Falco which I believe, after a google session, needs the Ohlins AP841 rather than the AP840 offered in that post. But, thanks for your help.

(I have heard that the nitron track is worth the extra cash over the sport, but that was not on a falco.)

Firestarter's got a nitron shock - not sure which one but might be worth talking to him about it.

Bought the Nitron Sport last week. I was on a budget so couldn't afford the track one.

First impressions are great. The spring is much more robust. It's a bit bouncy when you sit on it in the garage, but on the road it's brill. Bike doesn't move about through corners, turns easier.

The simple adjustment is no bad thing. I'm useless at all that mechanical tinkering.

They send it to you set for your weight. All I've done is increase the ride height a couple of mill, give the preload a couple of turns and ease off the damping a click or two and it's brill.

Early days but I'd recommend it. Looks the buisness too!!!

I've got the Track version, I'm really impressed with it. I can't compare to the Sport version, but the Track version made a huge difference to my bike.

I haven't had mine set up, it's basically out the box from Nitron, the spring & preload is set for your weight on delivery with standard rebound & compression settings.

Had a look on their website earlier - I'm not advocating the extra bells & whistles, but if you're looking at the Track version, the Race version is on their website for only £30 more that the Track, and IIRC you get a remote resevoir and hi- & lo-speed damping

Thanks, guys, for all the feedback. I'll bear it in mind before I commit. It's so easy to ratchet up the initial budget; just another £30! I could convice myself that I need the extra functions offered, but if I'm being honest, I probably don't. Spotted a fluid leak from the clutch slave cylinder tonight so looks like an MPL just jumped ahead of the shock on the upgrade priority list! I'm not in a hurry for a shock; the original has only done 5k miles; I'm just doing my homework now so that when there's enough in the bling fund, I can do it.

Or just replace the seal and stick with the Nitron plan
