I'm taking the opportunity of not being allowed to ride to progress some of the bits and pieces that have been waiting to be done on my bike.

High on the list is to fit the Ohlins forks .... but I'd like to have them properly looked over and serviced before they go on (after that i'll probably do any further servicing myself but thought I'd get them properly looked at before fitting them).

I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendation of where I should take them.

Ducati Coventry (John Hackett Performance) are the nearest Ohlins service centre but their website says they only touch Ducati ..... guess i could amble up with the fork legs and claim they came off my "Ducati" and see how far that gets me ....

K-tech are also a proper Ohlins centre and are not too far away but they want £120 + vat just to service them - parts other than seals and oil are on top. Dunno if it's just that I'm being tight, but £138 just to strip them, fit new seals, put them together and pour in some oil sounds a tad pricey to me.

Anyone else got any ideas .... or maybe I'll just do them myself.

Sorry Andy - Idon't have any recommendations around the Midlands but Reactive suspension in York are highly recommended. F9 uses them and the guy there (Gareth) has always been really helpful when I've spoken to him. Clay Cross (Powersport... I think) are another one that people regularly recommend up here (Derbyshire).

MC technics are 30 miles from me - and they are shit hot, but getting booked there is hard now as they are widely used by the mags...

They do forks but don't know the cost. Good services though & know what they're taking about.

Yeah I know it's not hard and i plan to in future - it's just that before I stick them on for the first time I'd like someone who is familiar with these particular forks to cast an eye over them.

Whether I get someone to do this or just do it myself will depend on what they quote me.
