Don't think they were actually different in reality (though I could be wrong)
Think I heard it was something to do with how the capacity was specified ... maybe up to the hole in the plastic thingy in the filler against brim full.

I've also heard that they do stretch a bit over time and their capacity increases a bit.

I'm sure a lot of us have run dry at one time or another, I know I have, so can we ask how much fuel you managed to get in your tanks from dry? And let us know what year your bikes are?

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...
