Help need advice on value of my bike quick

Hi all. Apologies haven't been on here for a long time.

I'm trying to sell my 2001 Y Reg Falco (silver) and I've had an offer for £1,500 and I need to give an answer today.

The bike is pretty much mint condition with full service history.
7,000 miles
Aprilia Race Cans
Full Aprilia luggage - panniers and tank bag.
Usual mods including:
Ohlins rear shock
Air box
Clutch slave cylinder
Improved stand (Suzuki I think) from someone on this forum

Servicing and mods have been performed by Aprilia Centre in the City or Southern Cross Motorcycles at Kilburn.

Reason for selling is that I have a new job which means I will comute, so I want something that can take the grunt work better - probably a Fazer.

So I got it valetted today in preparation for taking it to a Yamaha dealer on Saturday and the guy who cleaned it liked it so much he's made the offer but needs it for this weekend.

I'm sorry to be selling it and leaving you lot but would appreciate any advice on its value - or if any of you want it then please shout!

Cheers

to me 1500 sounds awfully little.

Sounds like this guy is trying to have you over fella :smt009 With all those extras on I would price it round £2 grand mark, maybe more! Unless you put back to standard by w/end and sell your goodies on here :smt003

Yes you're right. Just took a look at autotrader and motorcyclenews and they are going for more.

I'm surprised to be honest - almost feels like the old Falco has gone up in value. Probably the good write up I saw the other day in one of the mags.

Yep - far to cheap .... at that mileage especially!

I'd flog the good bits separately too ... assuming you've got the originals .... and if not, the bounty of ebay may provide them for far less than you'd sell the goodies for.

I've got the original shock and air box but not the exhausts.

Quite honestly I'd rather sell as one lot just for simplicity.

I would be tempted to try the commute for a couple of weeks to see how it goes

after easter you will get more for the falco in a private sale

1500 is too cheap

I've just £1.8k for a black Y 2001 with no mods and 25k miles.....you don't want to be giving it away.

I suspect the vultures will be round your shock like flies to steaming turd! :smt003

You'll get over 200 for that on the bay.

When someone makes an offer and says 'must have it by the weekend' it normally means he's trying to roll you over. With only 7k miles on it, it must be worth 2 grand, especially with the extras. Quite frankly, he's taking the piss...

I bought my First falco to commute 100 mile round trip and the bike was perfect for it

Definately taking the piss at 1500 quid

2k minimum and the luggage and cans will justify that on their own even if the bike was 'average'

Ebay it with a reserve of 1950 and highlight the extras...

Posted today on the Club Aprilia forum:
Bikers in North Baddesley Hampshire have a very clean '51 plated mettalic red Falco for sale. The last owner has packed up motorcycling, mileage is about 10k . Haggle about £3000.
OK that's an impossibly optimistic price.... but the contrast between that and the offer for yours is interesting

OK thanks guys. I've said no to him and he wouldn't pay £2k.

I'll put a proper notice up on this forum for £2k all in when I've got some pictures over the weekend, and if no-one wants it I'll put it on ebay.
