Can anyone help with this question?
This only happens the first time you pull away from cold ,but as soon as you engage the clutch the bike will try and jolt forward and stall this will happen about three times then wont do it anymore, I'm I not giving the bike long enough to warm up?? I have got used to it but the bike will have my wife as will catch her unaware!!
Also how much life do you get from a clutch and where do you gert a replacement ??

bleed the clutch i think would be my first thing - look at the tech section for a post i made about bleeding our hydraulics

when did you last do an oil and filter change - and what oil did you use?

the bike had a major service in the summer from a Aprilia dealer,its only the very first time the bike is started i can go for a blat and leave the bike for a couple of hours and it will be fine,I can start the bike up in the morning and it will jolt forward and stall then take it around the block then hand it to my wife and I know it will not play up

Yeah it's clutch drag.

Check you're not losing fluid (slave seals are known to fail - mine did - sometimes it's not obvious they are leaking either)

Certainly follow Pete's advice and give it a good bleed.

Oh - another thought - what have you got the span adjuster set to? Try moving it out a click or 2.
Do this one first - it's the easiest and might solve the problem. If it solves it now but the problem returns later, then I'll bet that you've a weeping seal.

Thanks when you say span adjusters do you just mean the dial on the actual hand operated lever
