I think the Beast's battery has had it, its been having problems kicking her out of bed and couldn't manage it this morning. Any recommendations for a good quality battery?

I,ve just fitted a Varta battery which is slightly larger than standard but it's hell of a lot cheaper than a Yuasa.

Got a Westco battery from Tanya, they recommended it for the Falco as its good for starting bikes that need a big kick, there was another similar make but about double the price. Order at 3:30pm one day got it at 2pm next day, really well packed, fully charged, started the bike right away. The Westco is slightly taller than the OE battery but I just added a few washers to the bolt on the retainer and it fitted no problem. Great service, highly recommended

Not needing a battery at present but for when the time comes around ......
How much taller is this Westco?
My scottoiler sits on top of the battery so although i can probably cope with a bit of extra height, the amount of room is limited.

It took about three washers to the retaining bolt to make it fit. I think the whole thing cost £56 including delivery

Me too ! The battery is not larger, its the recess on the battery is smaller for the plastic clamp on the falco so as you siad just add some washersn

Is it this one?

Don't ask why...
Got a dash reset yesterday morning, but started. So after getting back from work (started ok at work car park) I've hooked it up to a maximiser for the night.
Started ok today morning, but was completely flat when I wanted to go home :(. Rode for about 10 miles, had to stop and kill the engine and guess what

.
Connected to the maximiser till Friday morning...

Yarp , thats the one. If you get it make sure you have plenty of washers to place under the battery holder to pad it out.

I take it that a 10 mile commute is not enough to keep the battery charged properly then (with the wire mod done on a 18month old battery)?

I take it you have one of these batteries then ? Are yoy still getting the correct charge back to the battery and are the terminals clean along with the connectors to to starter relay etc. Forgive me if I am talking sucking eggs

although I like mine covered in sausage meat.
