anyone know the factory fork settings for my Falco, black showa forks.
According to the manual, it all relates to clicks, none of my adjustment screws click !
Got the forks off at the moment, changing the seals/dust covers and oil.
Last time i was out on her i nearly killed myself. The front brakes locked up .. because i hadn't used her for a while, the pads were all corroded, and sticking on the sliders !!!! copper grease everywhere now...dont want that happening again.

Go easy with the copper grease, I put a bit too much on when I had problems with the pads sticking, all the road crud started sticking to the grease, meaning they didn't slide properly and started sticking again.

It's also worth mentioning that copper grease is harmful to the caliper seals. The only grease that should be used in that area is vegetable-based grease, a.k.a. Girling red rubber grease.
Using mineral-based grease will cause the seals to harden and lose their sealing capability. Copper grease should only be used sparingly on the locating pins for the pads, otherwise it defeats the object (as Firestarter says).

I think Silicone grease is also OK.

You may be able to feel some slight indents as you adjust the damping & compression screws, some are smoother than others in my experience. The forks are not like the shock though with definate clicks if that is what you were expecting. To be honest I can't remember whether they are a smooth adjustment or not.
Screw 1 (top of forks, Damping) from end of stroke (fully screwed in) 1.5 turns out
Screw 2 (base of forks, Compression) from end of stroke (fully screwed in) 1.5 turns turns out
Preload (rings on top of forks) this varies as you should set your static sag to suit your own weight, hence the preload required will be different for everyone. I'd set it in the middle to start with (I think its 4 rings showing) I know what you mean about the manual, it mentions clicks but you won't get any adjusting the preload nuts, you'll just notice the rings increasing or decreasing as you slacken or tighten. The manual mentions 5 clicks, maybe this means 5 rings showing??
