Got my Stebel Nautilus compact horn fitted this afternoon. Bolted it to the top of my Renegade Airkit plate, with the relay on the underside.
It is...
FECKING LOUD!
Sounds like a 60's Ferrari now instead of Noddy's car
S'pose you all want instalation photos now don't you?

Yep! Wonderful horn. I've had one on my Triumph for the past couple of years and will fit one to the Falco soon. Used to great effect last week when a plonker in a car pulled into my lane after joining from a slip road. I was expecting him to do it and eased back in time to avoid it being really close but thought I'd use the opportunity to test the Nautilus. Poor lad didn't know whether to go back to the nearside lane, brake, accelerate or carry on with the manoeuvre. I did get an apologetic wave when I passed him so hopefully he'll Think Bike next time.

this is going to sound strange, but you lot are used to me so....
I want a horn that sounds like the old navy boats - you know the WHOOP WHOOP noise they used to make in the old black and white films when they entered port....
sad but true

No idea even where to start doing something like that. I reckon a claxon would suit the Falco really well, not sure if they're legal in our nanny state dictatorship though.

I can't remember ever using the horn - hell if it wasn't for the MOT I wouldn't even know if it worked.
I tend to go for the brake instead.

I can never find the switch. Usually just shout obscenities as I hit the brakes. They can't hear them but I feel better.

Long story... My horn wires wore through a few years ago and I didn't find out until some twat pulled out in front on me on a roundabout, rather than alerting him to the fact I was there all that happened when I pressed the horn button was that the dash and lights died as the wires shorted out through the fairing bracket.
So I relocated the horn to the front of the bottom yoke, but later got a steering damper, meaning I'd have to move the horn to fit it. Rather than stick with the original stupid sounding 'meep meep' noddy thing I thought I'd get something a bit more in keeping with the Falco's style for when the time came.
Finally got round to fitting them both as part of this winter's Falco mod fest

Believe me, this can be heard over the Rotax. Well, it would be, but it blew it's fuse today

Have to find out why now, its MoT is on Friday

That thread sucks, most of the posters seem to be morons with no idea what they're on about.
The fuse will have blown because either it was weak to begin with (it wasn't a new one), because there is a short in the wiring I did, or because there is a bad connection causing too much current to be drawn.

Hi Nooj,
Did you suss out the blown fuse fella? I tried deciphering the instructions this afternoon

Went onto their website, all it was on there was a photocopy of what was sent in the package..... Not sure where to start on this, not a sparky, only a lowly gas engineer

Sorted. Don't believe it where it says use wire good for 10 amps, use something that will take 20. I put a 10 amp fuse in to go with the 10 amp wire, but later found out it needs a 20 amp fuse (which is why the 10 amp one blew), so 10 amp wire would be worse than useless and melt.
Now it's...
EVEN LOUDER!!!!
