I can't remember when I last rode my Falco

No, I really can't.

I'm sure it was after New Year but not by much and I am shocked that it's been so long.

Of course this winter it's a bit different in that I have a trailie to take the muck so I'm still riding but last winter I was getting the Falco out at least every 2 weeks.

And it won't be going anywhere soon either. :smt009

I was the same with my Triumph TT600 so I sold it and bought something to hack about on instead. Saying that, the lad I sold it to has had it laid up longer than I used to. :smt009

I hang my head in shame :smt089 but I hate the cold, hate salt and if it ain't warm enough to get me knee down there isn't any point in going out!

Incoming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't ridden mine since last weekend.

New speed sensor is half-fitted - so I'll get that sorted tonight or tomorrow morning, get the seat unit back on and then back in action .... hopefully.

.... tis too long .....

The sky was blue above Edinburgh this morning and so the cover came off and the Beast fired up (solar battery charger :smt001 ) I took the opportunity to roar along the bypass to the college where I had a lunch time class and then back home. Fell in love with that V twin all over again, absence really does make the heart grow fonder! So get the thermals on and uncover those Falcos you'll be glad you did!

There is one financial benefit to not riding it in winter though...

... the rear tyre is still nice and round :smt003

No matter how 'brave' I was the last 2 winters I always ended up with a squared off rear tyre.

I think it was late last summer, I led a rideout and took it to bits after that, then I was waiting for bits, then I had DIY stuff to do (still bloody do!), then it was too cold to work in the garage...and still is.

So we have a forum of Falco owners rather than Falco riders ..... no wonder we see so few of them on the road - there are probably thousands out there, all tucked up in their little sheds and garages while their owners remember the day when they used to ride bikes .......

Two weeks ago - got home early from work and caught an hour of late afternoon sun. Before that it was Christmas eve to run a couple of errands and Boxing day round to my parents.........Bloody cold though.

this morning

no snow, and needed to get something from town - and no car parking there so a quick blatt

took me longer to put leathers on than the ride...

You should see Polish roads. They are white with salt. No way I'm getting my babe out there. :smt019

Weekend before last and the week before that.
Unfortunately no chance this weekend, two inch of hard packed ice up the road from my place. :smt009
