.. actually it was my own stupidity. Had the bike strapped up on the ramp for some work. When I dropped the ramp to floor level I must have been in a complete daze because clearly the straps were holding her upright - yet I bent down to unclip them. As I was standing up from unclipping the right strap I met the bike halfway on her downward plunge.
I am pleased to say I sacrificed life and limb and with the aid of the wall next to me and only at the cost of a clipon in the ear and what must have been my spleen in pushing her back up - we both survived

Wow....
I was just trying to corner mine into the living room...no luck, so it stays in the hallway. My wife noticed the cheese sidestand when it was close to tipping over, and i think i just got some funding for a US version.

well saved that man. I remember losing my footing on a gravel car park when I had a nice shiny new GSXR. at the point of no return I desperately tried to get my other leg round and managed to throw both legs under the bike to save and damage........ needed two other blokes to lift the bike off me though. Very very humiliating

.... running round untravelled essex roads, practicing for an iam test i never followed through with, i encountered a horse float on a hump back (single lane) bridge after a blind bend. Road was wet, was foggy; dumped enough speed from 40ish to slide into the left hand ditch and was pinned to the wet earth by my steaming firestorm... 5 faces peered down at me through the trees as I laughed my arse off. Float driver and mate pulled the heavy black bitch off me and dusted us down before we continued, muddied (bike and rider) with barely a scuff.

Kiwi... I put it to you that you have actually spent more time with your bike on top of you, than you have with you on top of your bike.

possible but unlikely ... sometimes the bastards just fall over by themselves, without giving me the chance to throw myself under them and break their fall...
