Yes I must be getting old! I can even remember laughing at a mate who had some on a BMW! but anyway, anyone fitted these I just got some oxford ones off of e bay. £35 got to be cheaper than a new pair of gloves innit? It claims easy to fit!? I imagine there's two terminals for the battery and the sleeves just slide over the original grips five minute job????

Well if they are heated grips then they replace the originals so it's not quite that straightforward. If they are the heated wraparound type then yes, they just go on over your grips.

Watch out if you connect direct to the battery. It is oh so easy to leave them switched on after parking and drain the battery. Safest way is to use a relay fed from a switched (ignition switch) source. Don't ask me how though as i went for the direct from battery method and just make sure I am careful.

I don't rate them all that highly anyway as I still get cold fingers from windblast - made all the worse by hot palms

Hi, I've got Hot Grips. Are yours the ones with the digital controller?
Quite easy to fit. Left side is a doddle. Right side you might have to trim a piece of raised plastic on the throttle (once you've peeled off the grip).
Be careful not to dribble superglue on your fairing
Do a search for "heated grips" there's a post somewhere on fitting the type with the older big knob controller.

At least a half hour job if you're going to do it properly, things need to be trimmed to fit, wiring needs to be routed etc. Heated grips are crap on ally bars as well, aluminium is a very efficient conductor of heat so they'll conduct the heat away from your grips and down the fork legs.

am certain i posted a guide to fitting the older type oxford ones somewhere....

they are easy to fit BUT - routing the cables is important, and think about where to place the control - mine is to the left of the instruments, like where the fuse box is on the right if that makes sense - I think i bent the bracket to fit :)

Of course, if you don't want to go to all the trouble of fitting them, you can always buy a Falco with them already fitted?

Just a word of warning if you have Gore Tex gloves the heated grips can reverse the polarity so that the gloves draw in water, not pleasant, happened to a mate who was boasting about the heated grips at the start of the ride and had warm but wet hands by the end.
