Plastics help...

My baby at the
moment;

...But I fancy doing something along
these lines to her now...

Maybe

Or even

!!!!!
(Well, maybe not quite
that 'Italian Red Twin'!)
No schedule is set, though due to having to pay to get em sprayed-up in Aprilia red, the parts have to be cheap, (cracks can be repaired, but I need the part 'whole').
I havnt fully decided if Im even gonna do it yet. Thought Id test the water and see if anyone has any plastics they dont want...

My personal fave is the middle red-bike pic, (third pic down). So Id primarily like a nosecone, red seat(!) and belly pan!
Id like to retain the original plastics for spares or when I sell her, (or I dont like the colours in the flesh!)
The colour isnt important; Im gonna rub em down myself then get a professional to spray em up.
Oh, any recommendations on a good spray shop in the NE UK?
County Durham to be precise.

The silver one not quick enough, so you're trying to make it faster by adding red bits?
Well, we've always said the red ones are quickest.
Here we go again...

Sorry FM, too loud for me
Then again that's one of the things I personally like about the Falco, they're a lot more subtle then your avarage Jap 4.
If you really want to improve the looks
and make it faster, you could just spray it
BLACK.
Then again yours looks pretty cool to me as it is.

May i make a suggestion?
I think that two tone colours work best - as in go for a base colour, then have a second colour to relieve/enhance it
My Black Falco has some discrete blue additions - maybe try to do something similar in photoshop? perhaps keep the silver, but add some apple green motifs/logos etc?
that make sense? (Bloody hope so - and if not apple green, maybe black to pick up the additional parts?)

I'll show ya what red wheels look like. Putting mine back on this weekend (today hopefully) afer geting them powdercoated red. They look amazing! As for the panels, not sure it works but each to their own. If you go on hartside.com and ask for a sprayer, there's a couple of guys who can point you in the right direction. I had a mate who had his own spray shop but he's off to be a motorcycle riding instructor now

A*sehole!

I've occasionally thought about having a spare set of plastics in another colour (although I've never really had a serious intention of actually doing it).
One thing that I did wonder is how you would cope with things like your V5 (and maybe insurance) - assuming that you have significantly different colours.
Sure, if you change the colour scheme, you can get the documents changed ... but swaping back and forth between the two sets of plastics on a whim couldn't be managed in this way.
Apart from ignoring the problem - which you'd probably get away with if you don't have a smash or get pulled by plod - does anyone know how this could be managed?
But, whatever you do,
DON'T:

You traitor!

although the silver ones will be even more exclusive now
Personally I'd leave it alone, Silver is such a classy colour, but each to own

FM - the bike looks pretty good as is IMHO. I quite like the look of pic 3 although don't know about the red seat.
BUT - what about a little more silver? Say by doing the bellypan silver and leaving the sides black ?

Falcomunky she is just beautiful the way she is but you know that, tell us you are winding us up
I have some red plastics but I definitely won't let you have them
If you really won't to try a red one maybe I could arrange it, that's if you think you could handel the power

Actually fancy it like this now;

Or maybe, (though requires more work/money/stickers!);

Its meant to be Aprilia Red, (Part number/ID anyone?), as it already has red dotted about the bike as standard, ('SL' and 'Aprilia' logos etc).
At the mo, its just a 'What If' idea, but Im bidding on a red, (not the red I have in mind though), rear hump.
If I win I will strip and maybe even just try n spray it myself with a can of 'nearest' red...
Its just a cheap little experiment to personalise my baby, (There are like four Falcos up my neck o the woods. Of course theyre nearly
all Silver...!)
Dont wanna suffer 'Parked Fireblade-Finding' Syndrome when we hopefully meet up this year!...

So I spose Im after engine casings, (paint condition unimportant but must be oil tight and unscraped!), a seat hump, (though I will hopefully win one soon), and some red rim-tape, (oo-er missus).
Any help on either casings would be most appreciated. I might even pay you for them!

I think it was the second image you posted - where you had like a red stripe going through the bike - but had the clutch cover in red... loose the clutch cover in red - I think that would look pretty cool actually....

I'm with you on this one - the red tapering line front to back may just work but in my view, the worst thing about it is the red clutch cover. May also be worth doing a photoshop of that design with a silver bellypan.
