I was taking the South Queensferry cut off this afternoon when I heard a familiar sound and a red Falco roared by heading for the Bridge, anyone owning up? Didn't see the cans but it sounded sweet

Nope. Not me . I was out on the Trumpet and theFalco, but not near the FRB. Serious salt removal operations necessary after the ride; almost tempted not to ride at all in this weather. I said almost!

No such thing as the wrong weather for biking - just the wrong clothes: so sayeth the mechanically challenged, 14 years in the saddle, non-car licence holding masochist me. :smt016 One day I'll scan in and share those pics of my central plateau (North Island, NZ) ride in the snow (with Ruapehu erupting and ash falling with the snow... creeping along in the tyre ruts of a cattle truck, squinting through the clotted frosen air .....

Agreed, K1w1boy. It's not the weather that puts me off but the highly corrosive salt/grit that is liberally applied to our roads. Are the NZ roads treated in the same way?

...seriously, no disrespect intended Dusty :smt001 - dunno what they do on the roads in NZ - I never owned anything 'nice' enough there to let it bother me at any rate. Wierd how that - for lack of a better word really - masochism hits: comfy at home sleeping the weekend away or freezing ones arse off zooming along on the falco hold more or less equal amounts of appeal to me. :smt003
