Oh dear, I have just begun the decimation of the credit card :smt010

Where will it end? And I have only ridden the bloody thing for about 20 miles so far due to weather and work commitments.

RSV Ohlins shock just bought on ebay. Just hope it fits. From a 99/00 model apparently.

Never mind, it is Christmas after all.

Cheers

The first step on the slippery slope. :smt009
Happy Christmas Pete, you won't regret it. :smt001
Might even get some nice weather to go out and play, was really nice in South Yorkshire today.

I know the feeling, I have stuck on or altered more thing than I've ridden it.
However I managed to do 200 odd miles over the weekend.

Cheers Guys

Why are these bikes so addictive and underated?

I am changing things before I have found fault with the original part.

Power of this forum, me thinks.

Merry Christmas to you all.

Cheers

I must be the voice of (in)sanity, then.

All I've done to mine is add the rear hugger and change the rear shock to a yellow-spring Mille unit.

That's because it's much more domestically friendly to spend someone else's money than our own :smt038

BTW, your new shock will bolt straight in.

I started with the rear hugger,
Then the belly pan,
Then the rear shock, older Mille White spring in my case
Then the Beowulf titanium cans and K&N kit.
Then the changed gearing.
Then the side stand swap (eBay item for me).
Then the exclusive smoked rear lens and red LED bulbs.
Plus assorted smaller items like uprated headlight bulbs, but seem to be finally slowing down now.

I think all the improvements have been worthwhile, but still loved the bike when I first got on it!

Merry Christmas Pete.

Hmm... interesting to reflect on what order we all did our mods - given that most have done similar things - as I guess it might show our priorities. Then again, maybe I've just got too much time on my hands at work at the mo :smt069

Anyway, for the record:

Rene Cans
15T front sprocket
White Spring shock
Dip Beam mod
HiD headlight
Mille swing arm
Hugger
DB Screen
FP Chip
Evo airbox
Nooj Leds
Mini indicators
Ohlins rear shock
Belly pan
MPS Clutch slave
Smoked rear lens
OZ wheels

Hmm.. better not let SWMBO see this list - she still thinks the bike is standard :smt036

I doubt it very much ..... if Mrs Viking is anything like Mrs D-Rider, she would not be encouraging you to spend any time or money making your falco any better or more personalised than the day you first brought it home.

Now you try and convince your Missus that she should still be wearing the same pair of shoes that she had on when you first met and see how far you get :smt003

Dave ..... great idea but for the small problem that I can't really remember the order in which I changed things .... but it goes something like this .... just not necessarily in this order :
  • Meta Alarm
Skidmarx bellypan (removed when 2:1 exhaust fitted but now fitted again)
    15t front sprocket
    Fenda Extenda
    Scottoiler
    RSVR Ohlins shock & linkage
    Gixer sidestand
Carbon hugger (for Falco swinger removed now Mille swinger fitted ... ah that reminds me - I need to contact the person with first dibs on it)
    QD seat fixings
    Nooj LED tail light
    Greg D smoked rear lens
    Double bubble screen
Mount & power supply for navigation system
    MPS clutch slave
    HID headlight (dip beam)
    Headlight wiring mod
    Heated grips
    PCIII
    K&N filter
    DENSO Iridium plugs
    RSV swingarm (with hugger/chainguard etc)
RSV oil tank (now removed to fit RSVR oil tank)
    RSV 2:1 exhaust
    Fuel Exhaust Can
    RSVR stainless oil tank
    RSV oil cooler
Obtained and waiting to be fitted:
  • Ohlins forks
    Oz wheels
    Led indicators
Tail tidy ... got the ally ... just got to make it now.
Mille Bellypan & Tombaa-style sidepanels .... which will take some work ... but I've got the bits I need.
Not included luggage etc and I expect I've forgotten something or other.

My mrs thinks mine's standard too
