Having read Yostwerks posts I had to have a go. So a couple of pics of my luggage system.
No nice pics of the local countryside yet so my workshop will have to do for the time being.
Like Yostwerks I have not drilled any OEM parts. The racks started out as frames for a 600 Bandit.

As its cold wet and very salty out I have yet to try them out on the road, plus I have a case of man flue.

Looks like a nice job :smt023

With your mounting method, just make sure that your pillion seat is firmly attached - the number of people that have returned from a ride without one ......

Anyway, now you've got the luggage sorted are you going to try it out properly by joining the massed ranks of Falcos in our forum raid on the continent in June?

I have heard about the pillion seat going AWOL, but it seams to lock down OK.
I am looking at ways to mount atop box, or I may just use my tail pack.
As for the raid I may have to see about an extended pass out. :smt002

Nicely done!

Excellent use of existing mounting points, proper job.

Barking Frog......Nice looking pannier rack setup .

I added an out of sight shock cord to provide backup to the single pin attachment for the seat cowl.
If the pin releases, the shock cord will keep it from going airbourne.... I don't trust the OEM locking mechanism.

I ended up drilling through the grab handles for top rack attachment. See the pic below for the new arrangement.
The pillion can be removed independent of the top rack for access to the grab handle bolts / nuts when
removing / installing the pannier racks.

I got the Bandit racks with the side cases. I started playing with the off side rack and noticed that two mounting points came close to the grab rail and pillion peg mounts. So hacksaw to the job, and it fitted well. Now the downside was I hadn't considered that the frames aren't symmetrical, so the near side took a lot of work to get it to fit. :smt009
