Well she's gone I don't now how i could do it but had to go no more space, hell i feel terrible after 7 years I have betrayed her.

Must be the old "Seven Year Itch" I suppose.
Suppose we all know it will come some day, I'm only 4 1/2 years in to my relationship, so hope to go on a bit longer. Being the "old man" on the site, I suppose I might just keep it until I pack up riding all together, (again??).
It certainly won't go before then. Every year about this time I think about gettin shut of my old CBRthou and buying a Blackbird or possibly another VFR, or even a Trumpet 955 to run alongside the Falco, and I'm twitching again now.
What are your plans, are you looking for another bike?

No new bike this year maybe next but to be honest i used to ride 15k a year it's down to about 4k now and i have 2 old bikes knocking around one of these will probably go as well leaving me with my elefant, enough bike for me at the moment. At least it's a v-twin but i Will be sad not to ride a falco again.

The Cagiva's a nice second bike but a Falco it ain't, but nice to still have any sort of fun bike.
As I've got older, I joke with the wife and daughter about getting a weekend fix.
More I think about it I ain't joking, if I don't get out on a bike for a week or two, I just don't feel the same, mope around the house can't decide what to do, never seem to really de-stress from work, just get generally pissed off.
Sometimes I find some jobs to do to keep me interested for a week or so, but have to get a fix out on a bike pretty soon and the Falco is the best fix by far.
When I'm stuck in the house, my arthritis seems to play up much more.
When I'm out on the bike for 2 or 3 hours, even in this weather, I hardly ever feel it.
Just comes back when I get home!
Think I'll have to be put down when the Falco goes.
Hope you don't suffer the same!

End of an era M8, I remember when I first got my Falco how I saved every thread you posted as your advice always was (and still is) very accurate, impartial and obviously came from a seasoned biker

With regard to selling the bike I know how you feel. I felt really bad about selling my Falco and also felt like I'd betrayed her. Amazing how a lump of metal can get under your skin eh?

I hope (like me) you'll stick around and continue to contribute. This still is a superb forum

Yes - a sad day but I know we've all got to do what we've got to do.

Like Rich, I have found you to be a fantastic source of knowledge and good advice and I've learned so much from reading what you've posted up. I do hope you'll stick around and post up occasionally - though I know it's not quite the same when the bike's gone.

I know how you feel. I sold my Pan European in September after nearly 18yrs and 70,000 miles.
Just wasn't riding it much the past few years. Still, I feel bad about selling an old friend.

Just had a thought ..... Thumper, now that you and your Falco have gone your separate ways, there must be some new owner for the bike. We've said we'd like you to stick around .... and I'm sure we'd also like your Falco to continue to be part of our community ..... did you happen to mention the site to the new owner?

Well its still in the garage and I'll be riding it as well now that my Triumph has gone (well saturday). Its sorned at the moment but I imagine I'll sort that out soon as I'd like to ride it again and it'll encourgae my son again.

There's a lot of it about, our best mates have just split up. OK, not exactly the same, but it's kind of similar, well to me it is.

No reason to abandon the site though, just cos the bike's gone it doesn't mean your knowlage and experiences have as well.

Who's the new owner now then? Still in Berks or is there one less of us to reprazent the Royal County Massive now?
