I've Broken It

I was about to put my Falco away last night - stuck the key in the ignition - thought "that felt a bit funny" - examined key - discovered only half a key.

:smt013

Fortunately, the other half (of the key - not the mrs) was recovered from the barrel with a pair of long-nosed pliers - thankfully it had broken before I'd turned it.

So now I'm using my spare key but obviously want to get a replacement ASAP. Obvious first place to look is the Aprilia Yorkshire website .... but that doesn't seem to be working :smt118

What's more, my home internet has died and NTL can't get it looked at till tomorrow so I can't go hunting for one tonight.

Questions:
Has anyone else suffered an Aprilia key breaking? I can't think why mine has done this - i'ts not been abused.

Does anyone know a good place to get a replacement?

Perhaps it's metal fatigue from overuse ... :smt003

Great link - thanks - can get a spare for my son's CB125 too.

I'll make sure I get them delivered somewhere other than to home though ... can't be too careful with info about keys

If Pete's link does not find you one, you could try Speedaway at Blackheath Tel. 0121 559 1270

Site - http://www.speedaway.co.uk/

Had a quick look at site from work but no obvious info on an ignition key.
Have used Aprilia Yorkshire and Speedaway in the past and my old (now shut) local dealer - Hillsborough M/Cycles used Speeaway a lot.

Give them a ring in the morning, they ship quickly if in stock.

Take it to your local friendly car key cutter and use a Fiat blank - it's the same. (can't remember which Fiat but 2 mins with your original should find it). :smt002
