Ok so I know I should have done years ago.... but I just made the VTR sidestand swap. I've had Perky's tilter mod for a couple of years and whilst it was better i was still nervous - especially when strapping the bike down on the ferry last summer. And aprking on gravel roads and slopes. I bought a vtr stand about a year ago but it was the SP1 version :smt009

So got the right job done now and it's fab. Just need to drill the hole to locate the swith pin.

I can hear you.......... "told you so" :smt020

Told you so

Good effort Dave, did you keep the perky's bracket on with the VTR stand?

If so what's the flex in the stand like with it? I've heard others say the Honda stand can be a bit flexy and the extra angle might exacerbate this.

I had the Perky's plate and gixxer stand on in Durham and the bike goes so far over that it took a noticeable effort to get it upright.

The trip to Oz put paid to the tilter (bouncing about in the crate must have cracked it) so I'm back to the original plate and gixxer stand and it's still a bit upright for my liking.

I put the standard bracket back on cos the titler did make it look too far over. The stand "leg" itself looks and feels far more robust than the prilla leg. Having said that there is a little too much play through the bolt so I'm gonna pack it with a washer.

The angle of lean with my Gixer stand is as near to perfect as you can get - but maybe this is because I'm running max ride height on the shock.

For my GSXR stand I got a fabricater to partially cut along the inside of the bend in my stock plate, then bend it a bit more and weld along it so it's now halfway between the stock plate angle and a Perkys job.

Thanks Thumper - my stand does kick further forward than yours. I'll try the wee bolt stopper thingy. Cheers
