Has anyone with an 02+ Falco tried a 00-01 Falco airboot? If so, can you feel a differece? It seems you need the corresponding frame plugs too.

apparently it does make a difference, especially if you have done the rene/evo airbox mod

I can see how it might help the Evo airbox but as the Renegade one is open, how does it help there?

larger openings for air system in general i i think - that make sense?

afaik the rene one is still dependant on the air scoops for air ingress??

My understanding was the Evo box seals to the bottom of the tank - using it as a new top to the airbox - effectively creating greater volume and retaining the sealed airbox system with the air entering through the standard ducts.
I thought the Renegade one was basically a plate that supports a big filter over the trumpets on the throttle bodies. I believe the plate is not sealed and, therefore, can draw air from all around it. I guess that any that comes through the ducts is likely to be cooler than drawn from over the engine but I'd have thought that the slightly larger orifices in the earlier ducts would have given a very marginal difference (at best) for the Renegade set up .... but that's just my speculation.

Yep, the Rene plate has a big gap all the way round it so sucks in air from all over. As Mr. Rider says, you'd get a bit of cooler air coming in from the intakes when you're on the move, but not a lot of difference in performance from it I'd imagine.

I've got a mille one and it won't fit.

Well I'm sure I could make it fit, but it seems to be a different shape to the Falco one in the picture and when squeezed in it fouls the throttle cable cams.

If I ever get round to bodging up the undertank/airbox seal I'll have a go at making it fit.
