definitive side stand answer required
OK, Ive searched all forums, and cant find any thread that actually states what sidestands fit the Falco bracket.
GSXR .... what model, age ?
VTR .. model age .... i bought a VTR1000 sp1 stand ... completely wrong ... the stand itself is exactly the same length as the Falcos.
also, i noticed the VTR uses a 2 pin switch. Can this be hooked upto the 3 pin falco plug ?

ok
the switch will fit straight into the loom - follow the falco switch cable up to under the tank, disconnect there and the vtr one will fit strainght in
re the stand itself, you change the leg of the stand - pull the spring off - easier after you have undone the central nut and bolt btw. Now off erup the the vtr leg, and then refit nut, bolt switch etc.
the leg may be the same length, but the foot print is very different, and therefore the angle of lean is more pronounced :)

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

The VTR sp1 stand is completely different, even the spring is on the other side (outside).
How does the 2 pin plug, plug into the 3 pin socket ??
Regarding the GSXR stand, what age model can i use ..

Yeah - I think it's the Firestorm VTR stand (rather than the SP1/SP2) that people tend to fit when they go the Honda route.
I've the Gixer stand but I'm not sure that any of us can really tell you exactly which ones fit and which ones don't.
I'm not even sure if I knew at the time I bought it which Gixer mine came from.
What I can tell you is that most Gixers over the past few years (600, 750, 1000) seem to use the basically the same sidestand. The only one that I have heard of being a problem was (if I remember) an "I-section" stand (can't say I've ever seen one myself).
The stand is longer than the Falco stand and, when extended, sticks out much further - making the whole thing much more stable. The leg is not straight either - there is an angle part way along it.
There are some pictures posted up somewhere (may add some myself later)
BTW: Sticking out further but being the same length is of little benefit as they make the bike lean over too far - and you can get one of those Perkys brackets if that's what you are after.

Always expect the unexpected
I tried the SP1 leg with the falco bracket and the bike sat too upright for my liking. I tried the sp1 leg with the perkys tilter thingy and it was better but really leaned over 50 degrees, I currently have the VTR Firestorm leg with the falco bracket and sits at a good angle, seems quite stable but the leg seems very flexible and I'm sure it's gradually bending as the lean angle seems to be increasing slightly over time :-( Ideally I think the US sidestand may be my next port of call but they're very pricey. Although it'll cost me more if the bike goes over.

K series GSXR stands fit with a bit of fettling, 600, 750 and 1000 all used the same stand. I moved the spring retainy bar thing to use the Falco springs and moved the kick-down bar thingy because it sat right under the footpeg and was difficult to get to. I also drilled a hole in it and in the end of the pivot bolt to take the Aprilia sidestand switch. Quite a bit of work in all but it's now as stable as a thing who's entire reputation is based on never falling over.
