for those that have a skidmarx bellypan and have done the mille single pipe/oil tank conversion
Mr Dremel came out to play tonight
(Mr Dremel is like a posh hacksaw for those from the Church of Nooj btw)
the actual cutting required to make the belly pan fit is minimal - photo's to follow, but less than than 3/4 inch has to be removed, and in a small area
btw, if anyone has the measurements of the two brackets to mount the rear of the belly pan I would be very greatful - I seem to have left mine some where in my shed and am going to have to make some new ones tomorrow :(

Wow nice job, must be wonderful to have all that time to do the drawings as well.
BTW I'm glad I've seen that as my sons bike hasn't the rear fasteners on, but they're in the spares box

Hi,
The bracket on the left side of my skidmarx bellypan is longer then D-riders (no sniggering plz) and attaches to the bolt which secures the dogbone to the frame, just visible in the pic under the gearchange linkage.
No problems with balancing bikes here

Not exactly drawings Gio - just a quick trace around the parts - easiest way for me to measure the offset.

ok, first off the cut , from behind so you can see how little was actually removed:
Now an upside down view of the cut side:
and the upside down view of the other side so the difference can be seen:
and finally a dodgy side view that doesn;t show much beyond it being fitted!
please note the bright yellow thing is an illegal immigrant to the UK called "Sunshine"
and that is the cause of some of the wierd reflections....
and yes, I will wash the bike - one day :)

I'm going to have to have a good look at this.
When I previously looked at modifying the Skidmarx pan, it struck me that I'd have to take a huge amount off. If it can be done like this, it's a very minor mod.
I'm just wondering whether you've got your oil tank mounted differently somehow - or whether that fancy stainless one you picked up is more compact than the painted mild steel one I've got ..... or whether I just estimated wrong when I looked at it previously (I hope I did).
Nice job, Pete.
Not So Good News .....

Mine doesn't fit:
Cut as described but fouling elsewhere .....
Basically it's held off by about an inch at front and rear fixings as the oil tank pushes on the bellypan behind the cut outs.
Guess we need to understand what's different - I'm betting it's your stainless tank.
Got to dash now - I'll add more later if this isn't clear.

spent some time on aprilia yorkshire website, and these are the two mille oil tanks available:
Genuine Aprilia Oil tank 8138558
Genuine Aprilia Oil tank 8148427
so, must be a difference - sorry andy :(
for the future, the steel tanks must be the way to go - the black ones are not useful to us :(

Yes, I would expect there to be 2 part numbers - but that could just be a case of them being made of different materials.
Certainly we suspect them to also be shaped differently from the fact that you got yours to fit within your bellypan and I don't - but we don't know that for certain. There could be some other reason (although my bet is they're different).

hmm - may be worth asking some mille owners?
