Problem with Falco cutting out.

Had a problem with the Falco today, not been out on it for two or three weeks, as weather had been dodgy so took the old CBR out a couple of times in stead.
Started the Falco fine warmed up for a while, as I always do, still OK, got on the bike put it in gear, rode up the road for 8 or 10 seconds, cut out. Tought I must have let the choke off a bit quick. Took it out of gear restarted, ran OK for a while. Put it in gear, set off again cuts out after a few seconds again. Tried this a few times still the same. Started up again, left it in neutral and just ran it back down to the house, left it running for a while, fine.
My only two thoughts at the moment are a faulty side stand switch, but if the side stand is down it usually stops straight away, not after 8 or 10 seconds. The other is the fall over cut out switch could have gone faulty, although it has not shown any signs before, and was fine when I last had the bike out.
Had to go out today, so didn't get time for a good look at anything in detail.
To check out the stand I have been looking for the old thread that covers the way to wire out the prop stand cut out on the first wiring loom plug, but can't seem to find it. Can anybody remember which pins you link up?
Also anybody got any other ideas?

Initial thoughts are the tip over switch, since it ran ok when you were coasting the ball in the switch wouldn't be thrown by any acceleration forces. Makes me think the switch has come awa from its mounting, easy check under the saddle.
The tip over switch can't be bypassed by merely jumping it like the sidestand, some resistor value is required. Search here or AF1.
As for the sidestand switch I'm not 100% sure so best have a check, but I seem to recall that you jump the two wires with green in them. CHECK though

It's the two outer wires on the plug, jump those together. Leave the middle one alone. I'll see if I can find the post with pics later
Don't forget, you'll also lose the light on the dash by doing this, if you leave it as a permanent fix.

I had problems with my falco spluttering / cutting out due to cack in the fuel tank. Maybe if your bikes been sat for a while you got some condensation (water) in the tank? If so you'll need to empty out your tank.
If it's the tip over sensor I think you need to switch the ignition off then on again to start the bike, if it simply re-starts off the starter probably not that. As previously stated you can bypass the sidestand switch by connecting pins 1 to 3. Good luck figuring out the problem, it took the bike shop a couple of weeks to solve my one.

Also check the tank is venting properly.

Many thanks for your help so far!
Just to confirm, it will run fine in neutral on the side stand for as long as I want. I had left it 5 mins or more warming up initially.
Put it in gear fine, drive off up our road and after about 8 to 10 secs it cuts DEAD, no spluttering or misfiring just cuts instantly.
Tried this numerous times, cut every time, but OK in neutral. Then just to prove the point, ran it in neutral back down the hill to our house and left it when stopped, probably 4 or 5 mins again in total until I swiitched it off.
I am still thinking side stand switch with some sort of delayed reaction, but can't understand how it's managing a pretty constant delay of 8 or 10 secs, used to cut straight out.
As for fuel tank vent, surely it would not run in neutral for 5 mins, but cut out in seconds when in gear.

maybe your Falco is just homesick....

Probably not tank venting BUT - I suppose a poorly venting tank could allow some fuel through - enough for idle- but struggle once open throttle use was called for (he says grabbing at straws)

Won't get much done this week as I am working pretty late most nights, so I will have a better play this weekend, let you know how I get on !
Thanks again for your help.

Like Fausto I'm clutching at straws here too.
Are you doing the same ride away? I'm thinking that perhaps the issue is the sidestand switch and there's a bump or something 8-10 seconds up the road that's just enough to trigger it?
Still think it's the tipover though.

short 1 and 3 in the sidestand switch with a jumper wire - as in just add to loom
has to be worth a punt - i cannot see it being the tipover tbh
then try it

Not much to add to what's been suggested already.
..... but have you checked for a tight chain
