My baby's got the blues....

Wheels that is
Decided to stick with the original blue for now as I kind of like it against the black.
Don't know if its the lighter wheels or the new Dragon Rosso's but the handling is now sublime (and I thought it was fine before!)
Hornetrider - I weighed mine before fitting and didn't get anything like the weight difference you seem to have - 0.6Kg less on front and 2.0Kg less on the rear. The only diference is the old wheels have BT014's on against the new ones with the Dragon Rosso's but I can't believe the tyres are that much heavier. The wheels are genuine OZ too
Still, whatever the numbers, it feels soooo much better

I have to agree, the blue doesn't look at all out of place.

Lovely! The handling is great isn't it, such an improvement, although bikes do always feel lovely on new boots as well. I have to admit I'm well impressed with the Road Attacks which I bought after so many people had good things to say about them - I've been scraping my boots on the tarmac on a regular basis!! More than enough grip for me!
Re: the weight - I weighed the wheels back to back with our digital weighing scales which are accurate to .1 of a kilo. Maybe there are different types of OZ wheel?

Yep, digital scales too. I wonder if Aprilia changed the wheels during the production run - mines a 2000 model so one of the early ones? Either way, don't think I'll lose sleep over it - just enjoy the riding!

I've just done a search cause I remember there was a thread on this:
https://www.ridersite.com/viewtopic.ph ... ght=wheels
Maybe yours are the cast OZ ones, whereas mine are forged? D-R (forged) and F9 (cast) posted up their weights and they were different, maybe that's it?
Anyway, it doesn't matter too much, its all about the bling!

It looks great Dave whatever the weight difference!
I also like the blue wheels, think they would work well on a black Falco that still the blue flashes like mine.
If you get bored with 'em, I'll take em off your hands!

OMG Tweak, they look CRAP.
They'd suit my blue bike tho' I've got a luverly set of OE black wheels that would look much better on yours and I'm prepared to do a straight swap since I know your a nice chap.

Eh?

I thought all OZs were forged, the cast thingies are just OZ shaped wheels put on new type Milles/Tuonos?
Edit: forgot to say, I like the blue with black scheme. I thought it wouldn't look good, but somehow it does.

Well, thanks for all the kind offers to save them cluttering up my garage when I get bored with them. That's what I like about this site, there's always someone willing to go out of their way to help out a fellow rider

Cheers guys!
I've thought about your offer Dale and I'm prepared to accept it. I don't trust international parcel delivery so if you could just cough up the air fare for me and missus, I'll deliver them personally

Hmmmm, couldn't you just nip over on the bike, I'll do the swap for free, while you have a coffee and then you can pop back home.
I nearly bought a set of these before my departure, but thought I'd wait 'till I got here. BIG mistake spares here are like rocking horse shit and twice as expensive.

Bike looks superb Dave, very classy!
Worth bearing in mind that the pattern of these wheels is owned by Aprilia, OZ used to manufacture the wheels for Aprilia but all the new Factory bikes are coming with the MGT wheels. They look identical to the OZ. The blue OZ from a new bike is not available anymore, so if you have a set of true OZs from your 04-08RSVR, 07 Tuono Factory, the only replacement is the MGT wheels.
Real OZ has the OZ logo on them, and mine say MT just like the new Tuono Factories on sale now
Aprilia owns the design, so they just switched manufacturers when OZ quit making them.
1st gen OZ wheels are darker, appear painted, and are for the "old" frame bikes 98-03 Mille, 02-05 Tuono for non-radial brakes
2nd gen OZ wheels are brighter blue, anodized, for the "new" frames 04-08 RSVR, and 06-08 Tuono, and are made for the radial front brakes
All that glitters is not gold and all that!!!!!
