Think think think, file file file, sand sand sand, dremel dremel dremel, think think think, sand sand sand, paint paint paint, swear swear swear, sand sand sand, repaint repaint repaint ... taking ages this is, shoud be good when it's done though, provided I don't make any horrendous gaffs.

Our plastics are surprisingly soft, made of some kind of black cheddar like material, which makes drill bits a bit prone to wandering and a careful hand with the dremel is essential! Should be fairly easy to fill them and weld the holes back up if I do feck it up though.

Big it up for www.bikecolours.com as well, the black/bronze colour match is very good with their touch up kits and you get a lot of paint, 20ml of each colour and the top coat, that will cover a LOT of stone chips!

Right, I can't hang around here all day, I've got a couple of small casts of fairing parts to make and some plastic moulding to do. Later, dudes :smt012 :smt017 :smt024 :smt003

I also got some touch up paint from those guys via their e bay shop, although i've not had a chance to use it yet but glad to hear it's a good match :smt001 . My bike has 2 small stone chip, one of which should be easy as it's microscopic but the other isn't really a proper chip just a bit of the lacquer which has come off. I'm not quite sure if i should just fill it in with some clear cote or if i should flat the area down first as there is a sharp edge where the old lacquer has chipped off?

Give it a bit of a rubdown first, give the clear coat something to key into.

Phase one is complete

Phase one: alter the front indicator mounting points so they will take MG-F side repeaters.

Verily, thy Dremel came in dead handy, as did a small file, a stanly knife, 1000 grade wet and dry and some beer. And yay, the air occasionally turned blue for it was a nerve wracking job. The Missus did look down upon my work and lo, the livingroom floor was covered in hundreds of small, black bits of plastic and she was not amused.

Very neat Nooj.

Did you repaint using the touch up pots? - Very good match if you did.

I had a chuckle at the 'brown' comment as well.

These can't be seen from the front and they're not supposed to be, which leads me onto phase two of the opperation :D

The touch up pots were from the Bikepaint's e-bay shop, the colour match is not as good as I'd initially thought, it's coming out a bit lighter, but that's more likely to be because I'm going over the existing paint, rather than a base coat. It's just to tidy it all up a bit, if I like the end result I'll give it to a chum who's a bike sprayer and get him to do it properly.

The HID isn't done yet, that's phase three.
