... I read a number of ideas about 'bodged', 'fettled' and home-made tail tidy / fender elimination solutions, but despite the cost I bought the evoluzione product anyway. I have to say that I'm pretty happy with the result. The best part about it is how elegant and relatively simple the installation was, the worst, the fact that the width of the unit, indicators on, is too narrow for a bog-standard UK number plate. I solved this with spacers longer indicator bolts.

Interestingly, I wasn't looking forward to drilling a hole in the tail section for the plate-light, but lo-and-behold one of the the previous owners must've had this tail tidy on at some point because I discovered a discrete bung almost exactly where the instructions said hole should go. No drilling necessary! The wiring had also clearly been changed before. Easypeasy.

Get yourself a new "number plate light set-up" cos that one wont last long. You will also need a reflector at MOT time, one of those little round type that stick on will do, plenty of room on the L/H side of your plate. It looks shite but easily comes off after the MOT

Looks good.

I'm still trying to figure out how to tidy up mine - I have high level cans and they would be about smack bang where your indicators are!

There needs to be no white light visible to the rear of the bike to pass an MoT, so I painted over the rear side of the bulb with some black nail varnish. You may be lucky and have a relaxed tester though.

Yeah, the little light that comes with the Evoluzione kit is pretty poor.

Whatever you do do not be tempted to go for a Motrax LED light. They are even worse.!!

I got a really nice alloy LED one from some ebay shop - I can do a picture if you like.

Why not get a slightly smaller numberplate? I kept my fullsize one , stuck a reflector on it and pop it on for MOTs.

Had the same problem so used 'fairing' type indicators mounted as per the pic. Seem to work OK. I've since replaced the naff number plate bulb with an LED unit (and the red lens with a clear one but, there again, so has everyone else .

I did my own DIY tidy and used stick-on LED indi strips that are intended fer car mirrors; CE embossed, but I think are only to be used AS WELL AS, rather than actually INSTEAD OF... ! :smt020
Ive also had some new hangers made-up with extra indies mounted on those as well!

And 'engage'... :smt004

She's mingin at the mo, but every time I wash her, she goes n gets all dirty again the very next day! :smt096
The indies form 'arrows' when viewed from the rear as well! :smt005
I designed the tidy so that I could still use the OE plate-light which gives me a nice space to glue my rear reflector to, tho I obviously lost out in how high I can then mount the plate.
Its a fair way higher than standard tho! :smt002

Love those hi-level pipes Tweaker! Id love yer link pipes mate! :smt003

...Tweaker's black beauty is a stunna alright. I had little choice in my cans coz they came with the bike and are more than noisy enough for me... tho having said that, I have glimpsed another blue/black Falco in my neck of the woods with twin port Blue Flames' on and I did get a twinge of pipeage envy :smt016

Will bear in mind comments about the number plate light and see how things go. I love my cheesy k1w1boy plate tho - especially after comments I eavesdropped on at an 'Italian night' up at the Ace tonight :smt003 so will take a lot to make me swap it.

funnily enough, i added a set of rear indicators to my bird last night

I will try to get some photos done today, but I used the holes left by the securing screws for the rear body panel..... I will have to post a photo! I have left the rear integrated LEDs in and connected though :)

pssst

unsure, but i think that your tax disk has to be on the near side of the bike....

(Matters little as far as I can see, but would not want to give some jobsworth the opportunity to issue a 30 quid fine....)
