Thank you all Falcoers for your help so far.
Now the BIG ONE, is this bike on eBay worth the aasking price? The guy wants full price even though he's put make best offer on there. I offered 3650.00 but he's not having any of it!
Opinions please.........

he's probably asking top wack, but with that mileage and the bike is mint i'd be tempted to go for it and you hav'nt got to fork out for cans.

I think I'm right in saying that bike is for sale from a member either on here or AF1. From the username it looks like the guy who has a TL.
One of his posts on AF1 (in the picture thread) indicated he bought it for somewhat less than that from a mate with a view to making a profit...
I think its overpriced even considering the mileage. There's not many people in the market for a Falco (rightly or wrongly) and there's no way I'd pay the full asking.
There's no way anyone should ever pay the full asking for anything, imo and I personally think that you've made a very fair offer.
Maybe try contacting him through his profile on AF1?
All the above just my honest opinion :)

I'd go for kenifs..

Honest example, same model of bike, but substantially cheaper.. you probably get kenif's up to concours for less than what the guy is asking for that one..
Have you HPI'd it, just out of interest? I see no VRN details like some do on Ebay in their motoring auctions. I'd check that out before anything.

It might be a bit high, but not that much for a well looked after low miles example. What you really need to consider is what else you can get for that price. For example check out what you would pay for a different sports tourer like a Blackbird, VFR 800, Faser 1000 or the BMW options. The prices for a similar one of these will make your eyes water.
Your choice
I had a similar situation almost 4 years ago when I bought my 2001 Falco. The Falco had been on eBay but didn't reach its reserve, I eventually agreed a private price of £3000, for a mint 3 yr old bike with 6K miles. I was the highest bidder so sent him an email with an offer after close. Bit more risk involved but it was HPI clear and bought from a copper who wanted to sell cos his best mate had just been killed in a bike accident.
I could have bought a 6 yr old (98) VFR8 with more than twice the miles for a little bit more. Similar situation but higher price on a 97 Blackbird with a bit of a dubious HPI background.
Was a difficult decision because I'd always tended to run Hondas, but allowed my heart to make this one and it's the best decision I ever made.

Mine's HPI clear if you're still looking?
Is up on EBay now (with a few extra pictures). You can even get a full 'how do I do this' history by checking out my posting history!
If you do that, bear in mind I've only managed to strip the sump plug on the one I'm keeping

I test rode one before I bought the current Falco, it was torrential. My legs were dry, my feet were dry, my hands weren't too bad, my shoulders were damp but the rest of my body was fine.
