Southern Cross Motorcycles. Theyre based in Kilburn

Ask for Don (Who happens to be a Kiwi..)

Mention that you were sent by RiderSite

I will lay my good (?) name against the fact He wont rip you off. Gio knows him personally as do quite a few people on RiderSite/Aprilia RiderSite

See this thread too

cool - I will check them out. Still getting used to all the funky noises (the engine seems quite chattery when idling which makes me think tappetts/valve clearances but the dealer I bought it from did the 29k service prior to purchase) which may or may not be normal on the Falc'.

I can't recall anybody ever mentioned that valves clearance was offspec.
These engineg are pretty solid. Just the clutch is a bit rattly...

Just get some non-standard exhausts and you don't notice any more :smt003 Changed mine back for the MOT the other day and thought something was going seriously wrong with the bike until I realised it's always done that.

I was told that the valve clearances needed checking every 9k miles on the Falco so I asked the dealer I bought it from to check them as part of the pre-purchase check. I have noisy pipes but really am a bit of a worrier when it comes to engine noises. I once bought a lemon of a Pegaso that was noisy when you hit the kill switch. On a ride up to Scotland from London - at Motherwell - I could barely get it started and struggled to Edinburgh where I found out that the noise had been my starter coil or something killing itself... had to push start the beggar at every fuel stop on the way home. Got over my fear of solo bumpstarting on that trip - no mean feat for an average heighter like me leaping side saddle on to the high and wide Pegaso to crank it.

I'll vouch for Don and his boys as Qwack says. He's a great guy and he sorted out the suspension for me when I took it for nothing (I'm not a fat boy like Falco9 was :smt002 :smt005 )

The bikes got to go there soon for a service anyway (only did 2500 last year) I'll see if I can scrounge it off my son for the day lol.
