Instrument Holder Bracket knackered

While I was carrying out some pre-season servicing and modifications including MPL slave fitting, VTR side stand etc. a quick check of the front end revealed a wobbly nose. I had a steering damper fitted some 5 years ago and clearly over this time it has taken its toll on the instrument holder bracket which had completely sheared off both sides of the headstock.
I’m having it repaired by a very competent person (Fastbiker) but was just wondering if anyone has had previous experience of this.

I have no experience in this respect but I am surprised that the steering damper would mount to something as (relatively) flimsy as the instrument holder bracket. Am I thinking of the right part? The framework that also holds the fairing?

steering damper should mount off the headstock and right fork leg

I rest my belly on the instrument panel when I ride and clearly over this time it has taken its toll on the instrument holder bracket which had completely sheared off both sides of the headstock.

The steering damper wasn't fitted by me. TBH it's the first time I have noticed it
I'm not gonna refit it cos I reckon it might be quite interesting without it.

I had a problem in summer. Whole assembly was bent as though bike had fallen, but not while I had owned it. I only noticed when I fitted DB screen. Got it straightened by a small engineering shop. It is quite strong but it must melt like cheese in the summer sunshine
Never got to the bottom of it

Seen the advert about the Skoda made of cake, but Falco made of cheese??....EEeerm wonder which cheese it would be?? Mozzerella?

Bit more expensive than the one that not long ended on Ebay; Went fer £60ish but was a little suspect, (seller also selling a knackered nose cone if I remember rightly).
Surely someone on ere with the right connections could have a brace of, erm, braces made-up?...

Having mine made up on a jig and properly fixed. Better than the original apparently. I was thinking about the bay of flea but what guarantees do ya get on getting a straight one.

mines bent too im just going to get a hammer and a bit of wood, and get it to as close as i can
