Failed MOT

Just put the Falco through it's first MOT - and it failed!!! :smt009

But, it's only failed on the headlight (sorted with some tape, until MC Orrell come back to me with an answer on a replacement :smt013 ), the horn (knew I should have checked it!!!), and a slack chain (doh!).

So, a bit of time one evening this week and should have everything sorted, and be back on the road - I haven't ridden since November, for one reason or another, and I'm really missing it! Especially with the sunshine we've had this weekend, it's been glorious (if a bit nippy) up this end.

Just got to finish the decorating and I'm free....

Oulton park is just round the corner. Focused events. £50 for the day this coming Saturday. I will be there again on the 'lickul' bandit

The wife just suggested that today, or the one on the 26th, as a birthday present - I do fancy it, but I don't fancy doing my first ever trackday in the cold, wet, and on the Falco and binning it. :smt010

Might have to persuade her into a little track bike for my birthday instead...

Just a thought.........

I always time my MOTs for late summer / early autumn so that :

A - I have been riding it loads and know it's in good shape
B - As the weather is good it's easier to get out and give it a good once over.
C - It's usually a fun ride to the test
D - I can present a clean bike (must help a bit?)

I agree with the clean bit. When my bike and either of my cars go in, I make sure they're sparkling. I'm convinced it helps.

my MOT iis in sept, failed last year on numberplate light the only bulb i did not think of checking :smt013

and what gets me how did they know i did not check it ?

it might fail next year but not on the bulb :smt001

I went to some degree of trouble to fix up a number plate light ready for the last MoT only to have the friendly tester guy say he didn't think these lights were a legal requirement. :smt013

Perhaps it's the old 'if it's there it has to work' rule ?

I always watch the process and it is equally nerve-wracking and entertaining. I enjoy watching him trying to find a flaw whilst quietly saying to myself " Nah. Checked that - it's fine - you're wasting your time there mate"

I think that a number plate light is only required on a full MOT, but not a 'Daylight' MOT, (as well as the other lights not being required as well),?...
@Fausto; How the hell do you time your MOTs to happen in the nice weather only!?!? :smt017

Easy if its due in March then do it, then in August do it again.
