my bird is now in lots of pieces - not quite as many pieces as if I had lent it to gio, but....

having had a shitty cold, or man flu, all christmas, I carefully sent the wife off shopping - with out my credit cards I hasten to add and then wandered into the workshop

well - the front wheel is out, and wavey disks are fitted to the wheel
fairing is off - ready for new HID system :)

new indicators are about to be delivered - my old clear ones will be available soon - I think some one wanted them??
(Am keeping quiet about exactly what I am changing too - wait and see :) !)

next - back wheel and swing arm to come out - I want to change the way the rear brake line is routed slightly to give it it a cleaner look

while the swing arm is out i am changing the bushes - not really needed, but thgt while i had the bike in pieces

Garmin system now mounted beneath double bubble screen
Heated grips switchgear moved to keep turning circle - don't ask!

An afternoon well spent then. I take it your workshop's heated?? Our new garage may be the size of an aircraft hanger, but it's also as cold as one, water freezes inside it!

I had the new central heating boiler installed in our garage - saved room in the kitchen

Another side effect is that it keeps the garage & bikes warm(ish)

Sounds like fun..... of course the taking apart bit is easy.

..........it's reassembly that causes the problems.

Is it the indicator idea you told me about? I look forward to seeing the finished job.

first snag - in some kind of pre christmas cleaning frenzy, it would appear that my good lady has tidied up the new clutch line.....

Front brake lines now fitted, and am cleaning the calipers up to make them a little more bling.... friend came round last night and was a little gob smacked - he had not seen my falco for a few months and was surprised at just how much work I have done so far

and yes Fausto - the indicators are as I was thinking of - if it works... if not, I have a second back up plan

I mentioned that the bag with the clutch line in probably had some thorntons chocolates in it... bag was found in seconds

I did get a slap for saying probably had thorntons in.....

does not look pretty at the moment - no front wheel in, no fairing at all, no rear wheel, and so on

there is an amusing collection of full ash trays and empty beer cans around the bike... but that is because i fitted an inside lock to the workshop after the earlier thorntons joke was deemed "Not Funny...."

I was going to do my Falco up this winter but the pick up has taken over as the main project. Might still have time though as things are looking good with the pickup.

Are we talking the same indicators as we spoke about during club aprilia day?

Keep us informed on your HID install!.
I bought a kit last week (Philips) and plan to start fitting it in a couple of weeks time. The ballast looks like being a bitch to find space for but the starter looks ok.
Likewise i bought a Garmin Street pilot (with motorcycle mount!) and i'm figuring out how to fit that under my screen. I think i'll be using curved tubing between mirror mounts.

Excuse me for asking what might be a stupid question, but...
Why the HID upgrade, all the reports I read before getting a Falco reckon the lights are excellent

Mind you, even a candle is excellent compared to me TDM's offering

The standard light are just fine.......

..... but people just love to fiddle............

Standard light is ok, but I wouldn't go further than that. With Debz behind me on her new Tuono (regular bulbs in it, not HID), she'll still cast my shadow onto the road ahead with my headlight on. HID lights are a huge improvement over filament bulbs, deffo on my Falco wish list!

well - the light just had to be done.... i found that the lights though fine, could be better

I actually have bought two sets of HID - as in one car kit for h7 bulbs

the kit is complete so would be able to do two dip beams/bikes if that makes sense

i will do mine, then will probably sell my spare one on

(I did get a veritable bargain though - the set was 20 quid, with 20 quid delivery from china - i thought 40 quid all in was reasonable! )

sets in the uk are a lot more - typically 100 quid per set or around 60 quid for a single bike set
