A mere £246.55 from Aprilia Yorks.
One for a Futura on Evil bay at the mo, fir just under a ton delivered. The unit is different but highly likely that it uses the same pump

My road bike has been stood since May
Dunno if its anything to worry about, mine squeals if i leave it for more than a week (so it'll probably explode when I try it now)

I would bet money that the pump is lubricated by the fuel passing through it.
If this is a common occurance if the bike has been sat idle, I would suggest that the seals inside have just dried out where there has been no fuel passing through it.
If that's the case then is should stop squealing fairly quickly. At the end of the day if it starts running quietly again I would say it's not damaged, just listen out for more squealing/grinding noises

Mine does it most of the time when stood for a longish period, especially when it's been in my dads heated garage! so I think it's just fuel evaporation.
When the pump kicks in I think the noise is caused by the air being expelled until fuel is pressurised...sounds like a high pitched fart!

i started it up again today and it was as sweet as a nut, so i must try and not leave it stood for so long and get out more.
as for the high pitched fart i only do rumbles.
