Benelli build quality is the worst I have seen in a long time. 3X M/C, one of the biggest importers of Italian sex machines in the country, stopped dealing with them last year as they were so bad. The bikes would regularly break down, so 3X would do the warrentee work and bill Benelli, but Benelli wouldn't pay, so it was costing the shop a fortune.

What do you expect from a Welsh motorbike?
TBH for some time I've been thinking of asking a bike mag to provide me with a bike and whatever else I need to put together a feature entitled:
Benelli on Pirelli to Lanelli
.... which would be my tale of adventure in riding the Benelli from it's home in Italy via Coventry (visiting the Vehicle design course at Cov Uni where Adrian Morton, Benelli's designer, studied) to that well known town in darkest Wales.
.... I've already taken my Mazda to Asda ..................

Got to admit they look more interesting now they are selling em off at silly prices, always liked the look and sound of them.
Getting one at a good price, lets you put money aside, in case you do have problems.
It's a tempting gamble

I lusted after one of the TnT machines

. But at about AU$24,000 for the base model, I just couldn't afford it. Combined with the reliability problems at the time, I left it for the Falco.
However, I've heard that now the factory is owned by the Chinese mob, things are much better. I still like the looks of the TnT - it's so ugly it's beautiful. But TLoML disagrees and says I'm not allowed to bring one home, even if I do win the Lotto.

Saw a track version at croft one fine sunny day and it looked great. Sounded like a triumph tripple on steroids.
Didn't manage to stay running for a whole day though

I have 2 friends both with Benelli's, ones got a TNT which she has had for 3 years and it has been fairly unreliable but it is an early model (pre radiator fans) and the other has a Tornado which she has had for about 2 years. The Tornado has been more reliable but has paint peeling issues which to be fair Benelli (at the NEC) have said they might replace with new panels. Both pay a fortune on service costs, even minor ones. Having said that they are both really nice bikes and both lasted a trip to the French Alps without incident.

yeh serviceing at £300+ every 3000 mls tells you to walk away along with the bikes value dropping like a stone, but saying that i've never had a sensible head on my shoulders.
