Hi all,

OK, here we go, managed to get a new thrust bearing and spring cover and now wish to fit them, would like to know what is the torque on the rod to tighten the nut for the bearing? Also, what is the torque for tightening the springs please? While I am at it, changing the oil as the ickle bits of spring cover waz mangled in the destruction od the bearing sob sob...Also fitting new clutch plates as well....

And fitting a new 15 tooth front sprocket, any torque setting on that along with the three bolts that put the MPL clutch slave cylinder in pretty please? All this to be done before the rugby tonite or maybe (better option) sunday while I am delicate :smt003

Cheers in anticipation,

Greg

Sprocket "drive pinion screw" torque = 50 Nm.

I'll try to find others asap but suggest you download the workshop pdfs for the bike - look at Aprilia Links threads.

Better still - ignore the rugby and do it at your leisure tinight... :smt003

A quick look at the V990 pdf sheet gives me the following.

Clutch Spring - Qty.6 - M6 x 25 = 11 Nm
Disengagement Rod - Qty.1 - Locking nut M12 =30 Nm
Primary Drive(spring-support plate/clutch gear/clutch housing fastening screws) Qty.3 - M8 x 16 = 30 Nm
Ditto - Qty.3 - M8 x 25/nut M8 = 30 Nm

Hi all,

Yes Bigun, tight as a camel's arse in a sandstorm :smt002 Cheers Fausto for the info, I just bought a shiney new torque wrench from machine mart only £16.00 enough for playing with my bike....

Will torque away after a quick job this morning, then lovingly attack my falco :smt001 Take no prisoners...

Later,

Ur friendly lens guy!
