MORE POWER!!! Go on, spend my money.

I like my Falco, I like the way it looks and rides. I like the ergonomics, I've finally got it so it fits me like a large motorcycle shaped glove. I like the practicallity, the sound and the big mid-range grunt, but it's lacking top end power, when I really want to ride like a total loony I'd rather be on the Missus' FZ6 as the Falco just gives up too early. I could buy a more powerful bike, but I don't really like any of them as much to look at or listen to or sit on. Besides, buying a new bike is just unimaginitive and boring, I don't want a stock Hayabusa, I want a very special Falco. So... what can I do next?
So far: Rene' big bore headers, end cans, air kit and chip, 15t front sprocket. I have a PCIII (currently disconnected) which would give me a tad more shove with a custom map, but not very much.
The current mid range is great, I don't want to loose it at all, so what's the best option that will let me keep that but give me a big top end rush as well?
Bigger throttle bodies? (Would I loose some midrange?)
Head work? (Would it be worth the cost?)
Big bore kit? (Who do I trust to do the work?)
Supercharger? (Silly money to fit and insure?)
All suggestion are welcome BUT... it has to remain every-day useable and servicable, so stuff like nitrous isn't really an option.

Well I was bidding on an 05 factory engine and was highest bidder till it disapeared

Its an option though, and should be cheaper (hopefully) than tuning the standard lump. (150bhp at wheel or crank?dunno)
I've been reading about the supercharger conversion and it does indeed look the dogs bollocks.
Oh and I remember reading about 'dialing in the cams' for more hp from a standard engine but I was possibly beered up

Properly blueprint the engine, polish the ports, Chuck new pistons in it and rebore it out.
Go WSB spec on it's ass.

Yeah - I remember that Garywales posted up on the old ARS about fiting the newer engine as he'd done this.

The other thing for power is the Clarkie big bore kit - plenty on that over on AF1 - Exdukenut will fill you in on that.
Hopefully plenty for you to read on this thread by the time you get back from Europe.

Wot????? is 150mph+ not good enougth. Most of the inline 4's are only 30mph quicker and probably never been there anyway
Methinks you are riding like a woman

Methinks if you're running 12.4s mate then you need to think about tuning the rider first, not the bike!

Yeah, my times up the strip were pants, but I only do that once a year for fun. I'm on about road riding.
There's a local road to me (private road of course, officer) with a twisty uphill section which opens out into a short straight bit, it doesn't matter how soon I get on the throttle on the Falco, I can still get to the end quicker on the FZ6 as the Falco just runs out of puff.
The Falco's managed about 124 or something, but the FZ6 will easilly pass 130mph before I need to slow down for the next corner, it really is a fast little machine.
As for swapping engines, I put it to Debz that my engine would suit her Tuono better, being a naked bike, and her engine would give me the top end shove I'm after, but she wasn't keen on that idea for some reason.
I keep blowing hot and cold about the supercharger idea (grooooan!) so maybe some cam tweaking and a big bore kit is the way for me to go... Hmmmm..........

Nooj,
Have you tried even lower gearing, I reckon a 15-43 combo would see that £130 mph reached at the end of your private road no bother.
Must be a quick FZ6 though as my Falco (and now the T) would kill my mates R6 & Gixer6 in similar conditions, they always complained that the falco's grunt out of the corners was unbelievable, when I ran the 15-43 even Gixer 1000's had trouble keeping up between bends
Give it a try, it's cheaper than a blower!!

Hmmm, I could go up a tooth on the rear. Hopefully I'll be aquiring a Mille swinger in the not to distant future which I believe will require a longer chain, so if I have to change the chain anyway, I may as well get a different sprocket to go with it.

I can see what you want, but if it was me I'd rather cut my wrists. The Falco is enough odf a bike without changing for changes sake.
