Need rhs clip-on and brake lever :(

Goddamn sidestand, bike fell over last week

Light scratches to plastics and can, snapped brake lever and bent clip-on.

Where's the best place to source brake lever and clip-on, anyone know? Think I read in a "Bike" review that the lever is the same as a Ducati item which is cheaper?

Got my replacement levers in matt black from ebay. £28 a pair i think although there were cheaper ones.

I gave up waiting for a clipon and cant bring myself to pay breaker prices ( £60+post pfffff) and ended up buying some Woodcraft rsv race bars

Just seen those levers, looked ok and matt black is a nice change so bought them!

Another thought along the same lines... when the brake lever snapped off a little spring popped out onto the drive - whats this for? Is it throttle return or something?

and try to identify it.

There is a spring in the master cylinder ...

I bet its the return spring on the lever.

Erm, dont want to worry you or anything Hornetrider but I found today those levers are ermmm crap

My first trackday with them fitted, cant test on a road as only a trackbike, what can go wrong theyre only levers

Halfway round the first lap, a fking warmup lap "!£!"£! and onto the back straight with revs climbing but speed slowing. Think its siezing (dunno why, flashbacks to 2strokes) pull clutch in and front locks and tucks

Fortunately slid onto the grass but soooooooooooo embarressing. I think i pyhsically lifted the whole bike and threw it behind the tyrewall, such was the shame

Bled brakes twice before i realised if you pushed the lever away the brakes unlocked. Fixed it by using the oem 'triangle' bit and black lever.

I remember reading someone had the same issue but that wont stop me sending a shitty letter about shitty substandard parts to the ebay shop.

Were they the ones I found on ebay and posted up?

These don't sound "fit for the purpose"

That's a scary story! Could be much worse, though...

Which ones are they? I bought a set too, went for these. If yours are the same, I may think twice before fitting them...

Hopefully mine was a one-off but I'm sure i read someone had the same problem. Should be an easy fix with a bit of filing here and there, i just didnt have time to go into full research and development mode when I'm missing sessions at £35 a pop

I'll find the offending triangle and compare and take piccys

I'll post a bit of an update here.

I fitted the lever and also found it didn't release enough for the pad to fully come away from the disc, so I filed a little bit of the edge away. But in wiggling it on and getting the fit right the little pivot pin thing worked its way up a bit such that it wasn't affecting the lower side of the lever. I took the end of my plastic screwdriver to it and tried tapping it gently back down but somehow this made the lever snap on the upper side

So, a bit of a weak product all in all. However there is an upside - I have explained the situation to the seller and he is happy to give a refund when I return the levers to him - apparently he will inform his supplier.

All I can say is that the seller seems ok, but the product in this case is poor.

Off to find some more levers now...

Pierre, Hornetrider, would that be possible for you to trace where exactly have you got your levers from? I've contacted the seller of mine and he claims not to have heard about any issues with the levers he is selling (which seems to be in contrary to what you are saying...).

Perhaps it is a different seller and different item? Or he is just lying... BTW I bought mine from steveaelybryn.
Maybe you remember if your's came in white packaging with red lettering at 45 degrees across all the surface?
I really like the looks of them, but don't want to die for it... ;) Cheers.

edit:and my cameras so crap it cant take closeups, but a bit of filing so they actually are the same thickness as oem would do it. Easier to see when they are side by side
