How does THIS make you feel...

...'cos I'm pretty close to feeling offended.
The article in TWO (Two Wheels Only), "Best time to buy ever", about how high second hand bikes values are at the moment in UK, how sought after they are by dealers. Then, there is a quotation:
Dealers are facing a drought of used bikes and if you have a good, clean machine with lowe mileage a dealer will actually pay over the odds for it.
"It's ridiculously hard to get a second hand bike in," said one dealer, "I'lll take anything I can get, last week I even took an Aprilia Falco part ex! If you ahve a tidy bike with less than 8,000 miles you're in a very strong position."
I mean that I know both values of my Falco, the real value (how much bike it is) and the market value (how cheap it is). But I just don't get one thing. EVERYONE I've ever met made a positive comment on my bike. Build quality, looks, rarity factor...I can add reliability, power, handling... The list goes on. Magazines love it (providing they have a clue what it is)... What the fek is going on here?... [/quote]

Sure does seem a bit weird! However what or who was the dealer? If they were a pure Honda dealer, maybe it would be a bit unusual for them to even entertain the idea of god help us, a Falco, being taken in.

I mean, they'd be the end of a Honda dealer if word got out!!
Write in to T.W.O. and vent your fury. No holds barred, tell em like it is!
The follow up should be interesting!

I'm constantly thinking about it, the problem is that - being a foreigner - I don't feel confident enough to express myself in English well enough.

It's a good idea, will try to 'make' some time and do it.

What a load of rubbish they do print, the place is bulging with good used bikes and they are difficult to shift because new bikes have never been cheaper and demand is at a all time low.

Just view your Falco as a keeper, then the resale value matters not. I found it quite helpful, in fact. My (second) Falco was bought for £2500 with 3300 miles on the clock. A litle bit of work and a visit to the painters with the belly pan and seat cowl and it is a total minter. I ride it with pride.
I sold one once, regretted it and do not intend to make the same mistake again.

Naaah. What's the point?
I just had to release some pressure.
My Fightalco is a keeper, I'd get half of the money I paid for her last year...But that's not the main reason
I think that if I liked other bike more I'd rather customize my Falco to that direction
It's just that frustrating feeling that people have no idea what they are missing, just because they can't be bothered to look closer at something. It's just so plain stupid...But let them all ride those Yamahondas and Suzusakis, same that their neighbours have.
