Falco lock stops

#1 Post by Three Dawg » Tue Jan 21, 2020 1:28 pm

Wheeling the bike out of the garage today I noticed that the lock is a bit more than it should be - the starter button touches the tank easily for example - is this normal for the Falco, doesn't look to be damaged down there. Solution? Larger diameter stops on the yokes?

I'd be surprised if something like that happened 'overnight'. You've made no changes to the bars in the interim? From memory the lock stops are adjustable - perhaps one or t'other has vibrated loose?

No not overnight, probably never pushed it around at full lock or never noticed. Bars are standard and I think fixed into position under the yoke. It does look as though the lock stops on the yoke can be removed and may be eccentrically mounted therefore adjustable, but I was surprised at the fact that the switchgear touched the tank, that shouldn't happen really even if the lock stops are adjustable.

Mind you, I've had a few Italian bikes and they do have their quirks...

I seem to remember that even as new, clearance between the switchgear and the tank on full lock was pretty sketchy. Like you say, Italian quirks...

Rob is selling his own custom sets - through FB initially - good guy to deal with.

Nice one! I'd seen those advertised and thought what a good idea they were, but then lost the link (as you do with FB). I can see me investing in a set of those.
