Clutch bleeding not happening

I've just put the Falc back together after its hydraulic lock up incident last year ( a loose pressure plate bolt turned a diaphragm washer into swarf).
I refilled the fluid using a reverse bleeder on the slave bleed nipple, there was a bit of gurgling as the fluid filled the master and reservoir so I knew there was some air in there.
I left it overnight allowing gravity to do its thing, went to bleed the master cylinder this morning... the master would not push fluid out the billed nipple.
Fucked Master cylinder?
Something caused the lock up in the first place !
Before you ask, the bleed nipple was open about 1/2 a turn
