Clutch bleeding not happening

I've just put the Falc back together after its hydraulic lock up incident last year ( a loose pressure plate bolt turned a diaphragm washer into swarf).
I refilled the fluid using a reverse bleeder on the slave bleed nipple, there was a bit of gurgling as the fluid filled the master and reservoir so I knew there was some air in there.
I left it overnight allowing gravity to do its thing, went to bleed the master cylinder this morning... the master would not push fluid out the billed nipple.
Fucked Master cylinder?
Something caused the lock up in the first place !
Before you ask, the bleed nipple was open about 1/2 a turn

Certainly a fucked master cylinder might well cause the symptoms you're seeing. Have you undone any of the banjo bolts in the clutch line? And if so, did you replace the copper crush washers with new ones? That''s all I can think of. But if your pump isn't pumping, then your pump is fucked, I guess...

Just a thought - you haven't got a pool of fluid under the slave cylinder, have you? If the slave cylinder seal has gone, then you won't build pressure to bleed.

Got the little bugger apart !
Some weird scoring on the piston where it's been in hard contact with the bore ( looks like a thrashed 2stroke engine piston ).
The cylinder bore was full of black goo, looks like something you would find on a 50's Land Rover but the master is less than one year old.
Odd wear on the piston where the pushrod contacts, looks out of square.
Have sourced an overhaul kit, new piston, seals, pushrod and dust seal.
Will post up part number when it arrives

the kit arrived today, not the right one, the dust boot and pushrod are for a different type of master but the piston ,seals and return spring fit.
Old and new parts got the job done !

Good stuff. I presume you now have a working clutch?
