Hi all,

Long time since I posted, just got back from one of my twice yearly trip round NW Scotland for five days. Just as I was leaving I got the dreaded speed variations of the weirdest kind! Then, nothing, so for 1,500miles I had too rely on my sat nav for speed check.

Got home and was chatting with "Pierre," who kindly donated a spare speedo sensor. Thought champion, fitted it, nothing, not even a flicker. Not sure if his is goosed. Does anyone know the resistance across these three wires at all? Or, with riding for a few miles, has something else fooked up? New one's are £124 up here


None on ebay at present.....


Any help greatly appreciated as usual.

Yes, all the info about checking the speed sensor including all the resistances is in the Workshop Manual (having had a few speed sensors fail, I know this well).

If you doon't have it, download from Martin Poll's website (go for the searchable OCR pdf and you'll find it quickly)

pierre rides mostly on track, but, had a big off and his falco was damaged somewhat. He put it in his huge garage and it has stood for awhile. i visit him and his friends on a tuesday night in a local wetherspoons. for banter about bikes. his drunken purchases are wide and varied, but, he has bought a huge house, so his time is spent doing that up at the mo...

Spending most of my time working on houses too.
Been renovating my mum's houses since she went to live with my sister. Been a big job - fortunately nearly done.
Then my house ... had a big extension .... still plenty to do and now about to embark on "project Garage/Workshop".

It'll be great when it's done .... I keep telling myself.

Sorry about Pierre's off - hope he didn't take too much damage himself.
