Not quite Meg Ryan standard but pretty close :smt007

My new (to me) Falco arrived today, courtesy of Ebay, Shiply and Rick at Haulin Ass transport :)

Got it off the trailer and had to dash out on it for an appointment and I am very, very please to have a Falco again :smt004
Fueling and gearing is perfect, suspension (Ohlins rear) is fab and the Remus exhausts sound fab.

Will be doing a fair bit more testing, you know, just to make sure everything is alright...

I see you have that funny little cartoon guy on your left lower fairing giving the one finger salute.....

Now, at the risk of getting thrown off the forum, I have an oil question :smt018

On previous Aprilias I have used 15w/50. No problem to do so again but, and this is the question, I still have 8 litres of 10w/40 in the garage so is there any problem if I use that on the next oil change?
Not thinking about top-ups as I don't know what brand is in there and I don't want to mix them.

Also, any thoughts on super vs ordinary unleaded? I used super in the Shiver as it responded a lot better but can't remember what I used to put in my old Falco?

Lower grade fuel has more ethano and can cause tank swell there is a list somewhere of which super grades don't use ethanol but of those some vary by geographical location basically you want as little if tge cap as possible or an additive
The oil I can't recall at tge moment but one of tge grades can affect clutch performance
For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

Aprilia issued a tech rethink, 10/40 is fine and can help eliminate neutral selection problems.
I use both viscosities in mine, I always use Motul so mixing is safe.
10/40 always seems to a be cheaper

General view is to use semi-synth rather than fully synthetic, fully synth has been known to lead to clutch slip issues. 10/40 or 15/50 both work out fine

Cool. Either or sounds like a good solution :smt001

Will stick with the pricey fuel though, managed to avoid the swollen tank problem with the Shiver so hope to do the same with the Falco!

Semi synthetic is the way to go with an early falco like that.

Looks a nice tidy bike.

It's the V-twin thing. There's just something about it that inline-4s don't have at all, and V-4s don't have enough of.
