New Eprom on trial

#1 Post by fatboy » Sun Sep 18, 2016 5:36 pm

It's from Germany, P Line, listed as suitable for Falco/RSV with loud cans and filters....
OMFG !!!
It's ballistic !
Compared to the SL Carbon, Forza, its both of them on steriods and snorting Class A's.
I can't really compare it to the Gabro because I only managed about 7 miles before my ECU cooked.
It does not feel quite as smooth as Gabro/Forza but jesus, it packs a bloody punch, the mph rise at an incredible rate,so much so that when you look down at the clocks you think 'Kin hell, thats naughty'
Starting and tickover are good, running is full on....
Hang on, here we go :smt003 :smt003 :smt003

For the avoidance of doubt and for the benefit of my wife, not everything I may say here will be absolutely true I may on ocassion embellish a little for effect.
That said when it comes to motorbikes, I like to ride side saddle with a nice frock

Could it have been from DigiKey? http://www.digikey.co.uk/en

It's actually surprising that a different map can make your bike accelerate that fast and..
it does not go bang.
you remain in contact with the ground.

Its a race map !
The Forza will go back in soon as the weather worsens, the bad boy will be in enforced hibernation.
As they say down here 'Top buzz innit !'

Is this a must have , I am using the sl chip along with the sl cans and it runs very smooth ! Will this pl chip run as good low down ? And is it really night and day between the two chips !
Just wondering why you feel you have to refit the forza

Hokay, the reason why I will re fit the Forza is because it is a little less urgent.
I had an SL Eprom but found it a real hoot but rough and prone to low rpm stalls and poor starting but that's my bike and not yours, if you have smooth running with the SL then enjoy it. Even after a TB balance @ AP it was still a stall/wheelie affair.
My new love affair has come to an abrupt end after a recent motorway commute, mystery oil leak leaving slippery stuff on rear hoop so Falco grounded for further investigation.
I cannot say this is a must have, some would say brown sauce on beans on toast is a must have, others would say it is a must not.
When I have sorted the oil abortion then I can play more,
My conclusion, rapid upchanges, rapid exhaust note, rapid speedo climb, it feels bloody urgent !

So take into consideration I am still running the standard Eprom in my falco?

I want something that makes the bike run smoother and less jerky at lower speeds?

Which one os best?

Forza, Gabro?

Any others on offer and readily available?

And on another note, I told my insurance about the +10 chip in my mille?

I had to send an email disclosing that the standard chip was going to be refitted, as it was deemed by the insurance company to give too much power gains? :smt017

I told them that was not the case and that it smoothed out the fueling and made the bike run better? They were having none of it.

Be careful with your insurance folks. :smt018
Tolerance will be our undoing.

Hi Jay, I've used both Gabro and Forza and have been impressed with both. I used the Gabro on the blue Falco (bike with chip now sold), and was very impressed with the smoothness, the fortified midrange and the overall seamless power delivery. I had Gabro bake me a chip with two maps, one for aftermarket exhausts and standard airbox, and the other with aftermarket exhausts and Rene/Hooked/Griff airbox. If you're after a chip to smooth out the power delivery, I'd say Gabro is your man.

The Forza one was for the red Falco and was specially formulated for the unbalanced exhaust system I have on that bike. Gabro was dismissive of the exhaust setup, whereas the guy who runs Forza (can't remember his name) told me his RSV had a similar exhaust system and rated it highly. As he'd doubtless spent some time getting it right for his own bike it was a no-brainer to get him to supply the chip. And it works a treat, as you'd expect.

You cant go wrong with both of those mapped for open cans and filter.
The Forza is a nice sweet, smooth and swift map, general concensus is the Gabro is a little punchier but both are a vast improvement.
I'm still making my mind up about the P Line Eprom, gives a vastly different exhaust note but can't really tell if its any faster than the other two as it seems I've holed another bloody oil cooler.
Only been for 2 rides with the P Line fitted, first was about 30 mins to see how it worked, second was a motorway commute, stupid drivers, awful traffic and an incontinent oil cooler so wings clipped there...
