The Triumph 1050 engine

Was touring with some friends and had a quick spin on a Tiger 1050. Was not impressed with the engine at all. Quick spins can be unreliable, so wondering if anyone else has tried one? It just didn't seem to have much go at all. I had just jumped off a Blackbird, but I thought the 1050 would be fairly similar. I was disappointed as I always thought I might get one of those eventually.

Hi Reggie. I had a Tiger 1050 for about three of years. I loved it. A sports bike in trailee clothes I think. The only reason I swapped it was because with pillion and a top box it carried the weight too high and felt unstable especially turning slowly. As for performance it was great fun. When solo I rode it like a sports bike and acted like one too. Plenty of poke in my opinion.

I think the problem with quick spins is, if the engine has a flat power curve, the engine can feel flat. Yes, he was using a top box and felt it was affecting the handling too much. When are we going for a spin?? We must! I'll send you a chat through Facebook :smt001
