Just ordered a Forza chip which should be waiting for me when I get home near the end of the week to hopefully get rid of the flat-spot up to 4500rpm.

I've had a good search through the forum but can anyone tell me you need to adjust the throttle bodies at all after fitting?

I found the set-up guide for the Gabro chip and wondering if I need to do a similar thing?

If you mean the trim pots it might be an idea not aware of necessarily having to balance TBs though

The throttle bodies are already balanced so should be OK but didn't know if the bleed screws needed adjusting again after fitting.

There's probably instructions with it, I just have no patience :)

Never considered it with any I've fitted and they all ran well enough including the Forza and not aware of anyone else doing it.

When you change the chip, you're adjusting the fuelling system, so you should rebalance the throttle bodies.

It's not difficult to do if you have a set of vacuum gauges.

Adjusting the trim pots is an entirely different kettle of fish, and requires a gas analyser to do properly, and are very expensive. Better off going to AP and having them do it, costs about £60 I think. I do need to get mine done at some point.

Don't doubt that in an ideal scenario this would be true but also then doesn't it depend in the balance in the first place and the range within which the chip operates as well as the tolerance range for the TB"s etc

The trim pots IIRC you put them at 12 and turn till it sounds right enough

My forza chip was waaaaay off at 12 o clock.

One of them was at nearly 3pm. I went back to the SL chip in the end as i preffered how it rode.

Personally I'd budget for a CO tune at Griff's after fitting a new chip. I took my red Falco into Griff over the winter to get it set up (it also has a Forza chip) and Griff said it was way out. But mine does have a custom exhaust to which the Forza chip was matched, so that will make a difference.

Fitted the Forza chip and it's a transformation!

Smooth power right the way through, no flat spots or hesitation- it's even good at slow speeds through traffic where it was a nightmare before.

Best pound-for-pound mod I've ever done :)

I've had mine set up by Griff (gabro), it was fine, however he's had problems the last couple of tunes, with a pronounced stumble/stutter around 3.5-4.5k rpm. I think it might be the removal of the baffles/blanking plugs (twin port blueflames) between fitting and tune up.

which Forza chip have you got, and what setup have you got? If I can't sort the stutter, I might be looking at a Forza.

Sorry but when I've looked the installation guide I thought I'd found for the Gabro chip is actually for the factory pro chip so probably not much use other than as a reference.

I messaged Ed who makes Forza chips via ebay to ask if the chip he had listed for the Falco would work with my set-up (Art race cans and standard air filter) and he replied within 5 minutes to say it would be fine.

Have to say, he was right!

My Forza worked fine from the off, thats with SL Carbon cans and a K&N air filter, very smooth and deceptively quick.
Some argue that it lacks the punch of the Gabro but it seems more 'univeral', it works and it works very very well.
Flatlander did a really good write up on various Eproms, worth a look

I put a Forza chip in my old 2004 Falco and it really was put in a play .Ive just orderd another one for my new Falco just waiting for it to turn up in the post that should be plug in and play as well (hope this will take out the flat spot i have in the lower rev range )my new Falco has the standard mods done with new fuel cans (Baffels in)
