Fork change

I have a week off work and the Falc is getting some serious fettling.
I'm swapping the forks for a pair of recently rebuilt ones, Im currently showing 3 rings above the top yoke.
I dont think I would complain if she turned in a little faster !
Any advice appreciated.

My advice is....Do it before the referendum as if we vote to leave Armageddon will ensue immediately and you will never get time to enjoy it ... On the other hand if we stay in the forks will automatically upgrade to brand new Ohlins and you will suddenly become attractive

Oh and don't piss into the wind

Wow, auto upgrade to Ohlins ! I was gonna vote stay anyway.

I was on three and went to five when I put the clipons above the triple clamp a week ago... transformed the old dear from steering like an oil tanker into a dirt bike (I exaggerate slightly).

Need to rebuild my Showas too... nasty corrosion on the tubes and new seals won't do any harm. Ohlins would be nice but for half the value of the bike I don't think I could bring myself to spend the cash.

Probably realises that with the full might of a three-ring Gove/IDS/Boris shit-show in power to complete the transition to a US private healthcare model those motorbikerists unable to afford private health insurance will be left with bikes they can't ride and can't sell?

Or he's fibbing and prefers being able to have the bike and no insurance rather than the insurance and no bike

New forks installed at 4 rings above.
As ever a couple of jobs turn into a shit load of work...
HID headlight stopped working last week, removed bulb, cleaned all contacts, works again but could not re fit because of steering damper, removed fairing today,re fit forks bulb and steering damper and HID will now flicker for a second and thats it, all contacts good and clean, cant be arsed to take sodding fairing off again to try standard bulb.
Im assuming ballast box is dead ?
New Blackbird stand does not fit too well either, too upright.
Not a successful day

Can't help with the HID bulb, but I'd suggest raising the rear ride height with a Blackbird stand. On standard ride height it will be too upright. As a bonus you get quicker steering. An Ohlins will probably sort that problem out... :smt003

I'm counting down the days Mango !
The Blackbird stand is a far better fit than the Busa one, more of a snug fit on the mounting bracket, all I need now is the Ohlins to make the jigsaw work !
