Meant to be going Buxton tomorrow one bike has a fecked sprocket I have a 42t spare but no Cush drive
The other has definitely got a coolant leak

So do I get up super early and try to change the sprocket ( have a spare chain not sure of legnth as its a 15t front)

Or

Get a big bottle of premix halfords coolant and keep topping up or just stay home and cut the grass?

Take the rear wheel off the one with the leak and put it on the one with the fooked sprocket.

now that is a bloody good idea so what time you coming by to do it ?

Even I, with my nanoscopic mechanical knowledge and experience could manage that in about ten minutes, you should be like them blokes at the TT. You'll have that done in 5 mins and that'll include making a brew 👌

To be fair the sprocket chipped a couple of teeth not enough to throw the chain off but to shit you up and make horrible noises. I didn't actually wear this one smooth.
What I did do wrong was reach for the oil bottle to top up and not check the grade and put 10/40 in so now finding a neutral is a manual operation only. Sprocket is annoying as the chain had only recently been checked.

The red one is fine (touch wood) apart from the coolant leak and the lack if tread on the rear. That said I still prefer that to the pirelkis in the bronze!

Other than that the injector seals need doing on the merc bit the garage want 2-400 for labour and 7.60 for the part! It also looks like the trailing arm bushes need doing so its time for it to go

10W40 shouldn't be a disaster.
Aprilia has sanctioned it for those who are having trouble with clutch drag/neutral selection and have tried all other solutions first. There is a tech bulletin posted on here somewhere.
That said, it should help rather than hinder.

A lot of bike shops put semi-synth 10-40 in as a matter of course.

TBH I'm inclined to go along with Aprilia's intention and use a 50 weight oil unless there are problems. However rather than their recommended 15W50, I've just bought some 10W50 for it's better cold start performance. With my short commutes, that makes sense. I've also gone for a fully-synth as mine isn't one of the fussy early bikes.

I take it the oil is for the bronze falco Geoff?

I bought some oil a while ago which I fully synthetic which was intended for the oasis green?

It is 15/50 and can sell it to you reasonably priced of course.

When was the bronze one serviced, the last time I did it?

Can't recall if I took it to griff for a tune up before or after that but either way its a long time as I have only recently given up waiting for my left hand to start working properly again and started commuting again

Being a tent and the family load up the kids quad and annoy my neighbours scrambling round the back paddock !

I'm fed up not being able to do shit though I did change the headlight bulbs! Luckily when I broke my neck etc I had to change to being right handed so its not so bad

It looks like there should be a pin on the closing aperture part of the lever ... I say it looks like as I can't see one and the lever doesn't appear to be adjusting much certainly not as much as it was !

Ps jay bring the oil with you if you ain't set off yet
