Not if its the later one.....I believe

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

the original red sachs from the mille fits, as does the ohlins one

i have seen one early sachs model that was silver, but no idea why

iirc the later mille had a different steering geometry??

Tolerance will be our undoing.

No - steering damper, not shock :)

Was exactly the same as the red one but silver - had not been stripped colour wise as it had the original markings and sticker

While I was looking round for what will fit I read a couple of people saying that the geometry was different and that the earlier ones wouldn't fit the later ones as the stroke was too short. I assumed this meant that the later ones had a longer stroke and therefore would fit so I decided to take a punt and buy the one I'd seen on evilbay for £30 (I figured if it doesn't fit I'll keep it on the shelf for a future bike).

It arrived yesterday. I still need to make up some of the spacers and get shoulder bolts, but I loosely bolted it up last night and measured the stroke and there is about 5mm free on the damper when the bird is on full lock, so it looks like it will fit.

Once I get it fitted I'll confirm this, as it should open up another avenue for dampers if anyone is after one.
