I'm after the bulb holders specifically, part number AP8124905 (Stanley sn911-01200).

Please let me know if you have any.

Thanks,

Dale

Not to worry, I managed to find some proper converters as the mazda 5 has the same stupid attachment. Available off ebay for a 5 er each.

Good job as it saves anyone suggesting I may be the best to ask if you're looking for a crashed one ! Think that the fuel tank filter is of a French car so go figure

So are you doing a HID conversion, Dale? If so, pictures or it never happened... :smt003

I'm going to try it and see how it goes. I know these are strictly not legal, but i'm sick of not being able to see anything at night time, especially on dipped beam.

If they are ridiculous and start blinding people i'll remove them and make do with brighter bulbs.

just do the dip beam with HID

then do the always on mod - though since fitting the dip HID I have never used the full beam option....

put the ballast under the instrument console - it will cable tie easily there

I've installed the HID kits now. Finding somewhere to mount three ballasts and all the accompanying wiring for the kit was a bit of a challenge. I ended up mounting a ballast to each of the air intake arms and one under the clocks. Its all in there nicely now though. The trick in mounting the ballasts on the air intake arms is to not mount them flush - they needs to be some space at the bottom for the front fairing to sit properly, so I angled the ballasts up slightly and raised them by 2 centimeters.

I then did the always on mod so that the dip beam is always on with the main beam.

The difference is like night and day. (apologies for the overused pun).

Very happy with them, wish i had done it sooner :)

This is where I stuffed the ballast on my old Falco. Fairly easy to fit I thought.

Here are some pictures i took. Unfortunately i took them before i realised i needed to move the ballasts slightly, so the picture of the ballasts on the air intake arms is how NOT to mount them.

Been thinking about this for a while - where did you get the HID kits from?

hong kong via evil bay

I bought a car kit - 40 quid including delivery - split with a mate

I seriously do not see the need to do anything but the dip beam.....

£30 for a set of two. If you want three just email them and ask for 3 - they did 3 sets for me for £45.

The reason I decided to do all three was because having the white light of the dip bean and yellow light of the main beam looked silly.

I decided to butcher the original headlight bulb holders for the metal pins (non standard size, obviously...) and for better fit of the h7 bulb. I then found some replacements on eBay which are off a mazda 3/5 for around £20.

Or you can buy the mazda 3/5 HID conversion holder, but you will have to come up with your own solution for connecting the new headlight clips to the headlight plugs. Or cut them off and wire in terminals. I didn't want to butcher the loom.

I'lll be taking off the fairing this weekend to put in a new sidelight and do the dash colour mod. I'll take some more pics then.

I've been itching to put in 2.5" bi xenon projectors in but I'll be fitting supernova brightness H7 LEDs instead now - seem to be where everyone's heading:

No cutting needed, brighter and cheaper.
