Samco hoses for Falco

This question arises out of a number of post on the Aprilia Performance pages of Faceache. One of the guys there has ordered a set of Samco hoses for his RSV Gen 1 and it got me thinking whether the same set would work for the Falco. Samco don't list a set specifically for the Falco, but as the early Gen 1 motors are essentially the same as the Falco, logic suggests that the RSV kit should fit.
Can anyone confirm or deny this?

The suitable person or persons to confirm or deny this would be those that have the full stable, eg RSV and Falc....
Griff or Blinkey for example ?

The only differences with the mille / falco is the oil tanks and cooler pipe routes, that will be the only difference.
Water pipes etc will be identicaal

Cheers Jay. And you are reasonably certain that the different oil tank and ccoler pipe routing shouldn't affect the coolant plumbing? I must admit that was my view but wanted to be sure (to be sure...)

I've been looking at this for a while and there are differences between the Falco and Mille hoses.
Comparing the pictures of the coolant sytems (and I don't have them to hand, so this is from memory and not comprehensive) the Thermostat is in a different orientation and although it looks like you might be able to transpose a couple of hoses I'm not convinced this will work.
The biggest difference I can see is that the main hose between the 3-way manifold and the bottom of the radiator is a different shape and I'm not convinced that it could be made to fit.
I'm tempted to get a Mille set and see how close it comes, but it's an expensive experiment.
IIRC someone on AF1 had spoken with Samco and if a minimum number (may have only been 10) could be ordered it would be worth their while doing a run, but it all got too hard and fell by the way side.
I noted that the Mille hose set didn't include all the hoses you'd need to do a complete replacement, but I can't remember which hoses were missing. Although they were straights so could be easily sourced separately. Colour matching might be an issue if your going all blingy.

Paul moon is the man to talk to. I know he does samco hose kits as i have seen them

On Andy's recommendation I compared part numbers between Falco and early RSV and, as Falcopops says, there are a fair number of differences. Here are the 2 sets of part numbers (all from Ultimateparts.net). Apologies for non-lined up columns (anyone know how to do that on here?)
Code: Select all
Falco
Cooler-manifold pipe..................AP8144076......£11.33
Engine-manifold pipe (2 off)..........AP8120979.......£5.53
Thermostat-pump pipe..................AP8144073.......£7.42
Thermostat-cooler pipe................AP8102773.......£7.75
Manifold breather pipe................AP8144308.......£9.01
Manifold-union breather pipe...... ...AP8144309.......£9.01
Union-manifold breather pipe..........AP8144307.......£9.02
Thermostat-engine pipe................AP8144075......£14.34
Expansion tank Pump-Inlet pipe........AP8144032.......£9.01
Expansion tank Fuel pipe..............AP8120952.......£3.14
Water hose between radiators..........AP8120981.......£9.42
RSV (2001-2002)
Water hose manifold/cooler............AP8120978......£14.02
Engine-manifold pipe (2 off)..........AP8120979.......£5.53
Thermostat-pump pipe..................AP8144033.......£7.42
Thermostat-cooler pipe................AP8144034.......£7.42
Manifold breather pipe................AP8144092.......£9.01
Manifold-union breather pipe..........AP8144093.......£6.73
Union-manifold breather pipe..........AP8144094.......£6.44
Thermostat-engine pipe................AP8120980......£15.07
Expansion tank Pump-Inlet pipe........AP8144032.......£9.01
Expansion tank Fuel pipe..............AP8120952.......£3.14
Water hose between radiators..........AP8120981.......£9.42
So less than half of the parts are the same (going on part numbers). I'm toying with the idea of removing all the hoses from the blue Falco and sending them off either to the chap that Jay has recommended or to JS performance, who manufacture their own silicon hoses that are eerily similar to Samco. But cheaper.

Mango me old cock sparra, if the plan to get a set made up comes to fruition, count me in for a couple of sets. I've been toying with the idea, but I'm too bleedin' lazy and I'll be buggered if I can find a manufacturer locally.
If they can do colours I'll have a red set and a blue set.
P.S. good call on the part number comparo, never thought of doing that

Easy - use the 'Code' tags around each block and they should all line up with a suitable number of dots or spaces.

It's still a truckload of work getting it all lined up, as you can't use a 'TAB' character. You might be able to enable HTML and then build a table with raw HTML tags, but that's even more work!

Nae wurries... don't expect it to happen immediately, as I'm like you...
If I can get anything sorted for a full set I'll publicise it on here, without a doubt. Most of the suppliers offer about 10 different colours, so red and blue won't be a problem. But I've got an old VFR minus its forks and rear wheel in the shed I've got to sort out before I can get on to the Falco. And the forks won't be back from re-chroming until mid to late February...

Cheers Viking! Looks much better now (if a little green). I have done some HTML coding many years ago, and it should be possible with that, but it's just too much hassle, I think. So basically 'Code' sticks everything in a monospaced font and turns it green, then...?

Spot on! Trying to build tables or columns with proportionally spaced fonts is an impossible ask.
I would have changed all the dots to spaces in my quote, but had to get dinner ready before heading out.
I just tried to put together a quick table in HTML, but the forum seemed to reject it and just printed the HTML, rather than rendering it into a table. *shrug* Oh well.
