You know what they say black cats and bad luck and all that?

Yep. Damned cat decided to run across the road in front of me. I thought the car next to me would get it, but no such luck.

I didn't go down, hell the bike barely waggled. And I thought "Woo! Got it with the front wheel or something."

Until the next traffic lights and the huge cloud of blue smoke and burning oil smell informed me that the furry bastard had taken out the oil cooler.

At 2am.
On the other side of town to Chateau Viking.

Not happy.

I got at least one (hopefully 8) of it's lives because I looked in the mirror and saw it walking off the road.

Thank heavens there are companies that do nothing but transport bikes from 'A' to 'B', as I needed one today!

She's back in my garage. The oil cooler has one mounting tab ripped off and a lovely hole for the oil to escape from. I have a friend who's handy with brazing, so we're thinking of trying to braze things back together after I go to the bike shop and buy more oil in the morning. And some 'worm-screw' hose clamps to replace those stupid Aprilia things.

And the oil that was in there? A mere snip at AU$100 per 4 litres. (Motul 7100, if you're curious.)
